A central pillar of Microsoft Azure Global, the Emerging Markets team, is responsible for research, incubation, product engineering, and strategic partnerships that drive cross-company strategy as well as value creation in emerging markets for Azure. We are looking for a Group Manager to help with driving planning across our portfolio of current R&D project investments in India, and to help us evaluate new investments we may make, either on our own or through a partner in the India market. The role consists of managing an engineering team focused on Microsoft Community Training driving it to markets and adoption in the ecosystem. You will collaborating with engineers, researchers, designers, and business team members to develop strategic roadmaps for our projects, engagement prioritization, support portfolio reviews and portfolio growth.
We are looking for a candidate who has led similar strategy and planning efforts and who has experience in the emerging markets space. The ideal candidate will have a background in landing programs, incubating products and partnerships in emerging markets; as well as, being able to grasp complex technical concepts.
Responsibilities: Success in this role combines:
Have experience in building and shipping cloud services.
Strong leadership skills.
Make clear, simple, and technically sound design decisions in collaboration with other members.
Be the go-to technical resource for technical evaluations and be the first line representation for our technical capabilities in key presentations and meetings.
Collaborate closely with other architects/engineers in the broader Azure team to further our growth and strategy.
Create and maintain best practices for high quality product engineering, development best practices and conduct architectural reviews.
Stay abreast of upcoming technical trends and internal roadmaps.
Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communication.
Cloud development at scale.
Strong track record of delivering services and/or shipping products (both in consumer and enterprise space).
BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
