This role in Global Banking Technology is for the position of Lead – Technical Engineering in Credit Origination (CO) Technology. CO is responsible for all the technology platforms supporting the frontline business in approving and setting up lines of credit for Financial Institutions, Corporate and Commercial clients. The current platforms are dated and with the changing approach in doing business the bank has embarked on a major program of upgrading the platforms utilizing the latest technology ideas around micro services, machine learning and blockchain. In order to facilitate this, change the bank is transforming to an agile approach where regular small deliveries are made in order to evolve the platforms to be next generation and realise benefits early.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Engineering Leader to help drive this transformation and build out our engineering capabilities in Bangalore. The successful candidate will be involved in multiple projects helping evolve the platforms as well as assisting in transforming the organisation to agile through helping teams be innovative in their solutions, coaching them in their work practices, and driving improvements and tool adoption. Reporting into the current Bangalore lead the successful candidate will also be an active deputy standing in where required and working closely with the global leadership team across Singapore and Chennai in spreading good practice and ideas across the technology team.
Some of the responsibilities of the position are listed below
Engage with cross bank DevOps and Agile and other SME’s leveraging on Bank approved best practices to uplift the Credit Origination platforms strategically in a sustainable approach while continue to meet business needs
Engage with Business to understand user journeys prioritised for development.
Support agile teams in coming up with innovate solution design no matter how large or small the problem
Contribute to and Ensure adherence to overall platform architecture an direction
Support the agile teams in developing user stories in a form that can support easy reusable code, automated testing, and platform as code.
Participate where required in Agile ceremonies for product development.
Ensure teams follow and contribute to the development of robust DevOps practices like continuous integration, code scanning, automated testing, configuration management, release management, blue-green deployment, online collaboration, cloud hosting, and system monitoring.
Responsible for implementing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines by working with Credit Origination Development team and SCB Enterprise DevOps team.
Support the reporting on code metrics (i.e. code quality, code coverage, security scanning etc) are in place

Preferred Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidate must have proven credentials of delivering in world class engineering teams. With a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent discipline, he/she must have relevant experience fulfilling responsibilities of the position. Candidate must have a strong grasp on foundational elements of desired core competencies. Must be a confident self-starter with ability collaborate and devise solutions. Must model behaviours that facilitate Agile delivery and must be willing to learn. Relevant industry certifications are an added plus.

Strong delivery track record with experience collaborating in a globally distributed team
Hands-on experience in driving platform migrations from a legacy estate to a strategic architecture would be preferred.
Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
Experience in using containerization (i.e. Kubernetes) and the building out and delivering software based on Microservices architecture
Experience in automated software testing.
Strong knowledge in domain-driven design, design patterns and enterprise integration patterns.
Must have experience in delivering software via complete Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to code in Java (Spring Boot and Spring Cloud Services)

Strong knowledge in CI/CD toolset such as Ansible, Artifactory, Jenkins, BitBucket, SonarQube, Fortify, Flyway, Jira and Confluence.
Strong knowledge in automated testing toolset such as jUnit, Mockito, cucumber, Selenium etc.
Strong knowledge in scripting languages such as Groovy and Linux shell.
Knowledge in Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse and IntelliJ
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
12+ years of software engineering experience.
Must be hands-on software design & development and DevOps.
Strong experience in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
Experience with enterprise scale systems
Proven ability to work within a team environment.
Highly effective verbal and written English communication skills.
