About the role
Director of Motherhub Operations is a challenging and complex leadership role, focusing on flawless daily execution, along with the long term development of the people and the facility. The role requires a detailed understanding and ability to balance every operating aspect of a facility; employees, culture, IT, process technology, process improvement. Flipkart Sortation centers sit at the heart of our operations and play the lead role in defining our customer experience.
About the team
MotherHub are sortation centres where shipments are received from multiple sources, sorted/processed and connected to the next destination. Activities like receiving, sortation, connection & return processing etc, take place. As of Dec ‘20, Flipkart has 50+ Sortation centres spread across Pan India fulfilling millions of wishes everyday.
What you’ll do:
Spearheading Sortation Centre Central/Zonal Operations for Flipkart.
Planning, Design, Operationalization of New Sortation centres.
Monitor MH Operations and identify improvement opportunities.
Work closely with Logistics and Retail Operations Heads in reviewing and optimization of the distribution network.
Work with External Supply Chain experts to implement global supply chain initiatives within Flipkart.
Accountable for Planning, Design, Operationalization of new optimized delivery networks and delivery flexibility with the help of central teams.
Drive continuous improvement and operationalize Business process Innovation.
Accountable for Delivery Quality assurance.
Financial budgeting & execution - PNL accountability of MH operations pan India
Develop, mentor and motivate the team spread across locations to achieve higher goals.
What you’ll need:
15+ years experience with operations and supply chain
Strong experience in scaling up of operations or greenfield scaleup experience
Strong bias for Impact based Action: Flipkart works at a very rapid pace & that is what would be expected.
Strong analytical approach to problem-solving with a metrics-driven focus
Focus on building culture of frugality without sacrificing safety or customer satisfaction
Constantly thinks outside the box; lead others to success and drive change to influence others in order to achieve results
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization
Knowledge of fulfillment/Sortation operations including high-speed conveyor systems and other highly automated equipment
Strong background in leading teams of more than 500+ operators & staff, including industrial relations
Extraordinary Change Management skills: Processes, Policies, Training & Systems
