What you will be doing:
Manage systems, create test-beds, POC setups in engineering labs across the globe.

Maintain clean and orderly lab.

Respond directly to HelpDesk requests

Perform advanced multiple platform hardware/OS troubleshooting.

Install and image a multiple platform’s operating systems (AIX, Linux, Solaris, Unix).

Perform moderate level networking or Storage management tasks, including VLAN creation on switches/or configure simple Storage devices.

Exhibit understanding of multiple Veritas products.

Write tools/projects/automation in multiple languages to increase the efficiency of multiple processes for use by a single department.

Implement and support environments with pre-release product and OS code.

Adhere to established Lab policies and Procedures

What skills, experience and education you need as a team member to succeed:

Skill Sets

Virtualization
Must know one or more of the virtualization technologies like VMware, Solaris containers/zones, IBM LPARs, HP VPARs and Open Stack
Exposure to UCS, HP Blades or Dell Blades is an added advantage
Storage Administration
Clear understanding of basic storage technologies like DAS, NAS, SAN etc.
Clear understanding of various RAID, their purpose and characteristics
Clear understanding of various disk technologies like SCSI, IDE, SATA and SAS
Clear understanding of FC SAN concepts.
Specific administrative knowledge in any family of modular storage arrays from Dell/HP/Hitachi/EMC/IBM is a must.
Specific administrative knowledge in any high-end storage array from Dell/HP/Hitachi/EMC/IBM is an added plus
Certification in any storage area is an added plus.
System Administration
Strong system administration skills in Windows, Linux and any other UNIX (HP/AIX/Solaris) are required.
Should be familiar with various methods to install software including the OS and OS patches.
Complete understanding of networking concepts like DNS, IP addressing, routing etc is a requirement.
Hardware familiarity in terms of differences between pci/pci express, different cpu architectures etc is required
Communication and Other skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Excel/web tools/MS sharepoint is an added plus
Experience/awareness in network is an added plus.

Educational Qualification and Experience:
Candidates with a degree/diploma in engineering discipline (Electronics / Computer Science /Computer Engineering) preferred.
Candidates with degree in a Science (B.Sc., M. Sc.) with relevant experience can be considered.
Should have around 3-5 years work experience in system and storage administration field.
