As a Manager and Senior Analytics professional, you will:
Collaborate with all aspects of the PayPal Credit business including a broad range of partners to plan and deliver fully developed solutions for Credit/Risk analytics and reporting
Lead the planning, development, and delivery of analytic and reporting projects from start to finish; includes all stages of project identification, stakeholder engagement, project management, and closeout
Frequently manage analytic projects ranging from small, single stream initiatives to large-scale multi-stream efforts in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Develop connections between business problems throughout the Credit Risk domain and deliver analytic solutions to meet the most pressing demands
Communicate complicated analytic results in brief, concise, and brilliant formats best suited to senior audiences
Collaborate with our Global Data Service (GDS) partners to create simple, trustworthy data pipelines and build automated reporting, monitoring, and alerting to surface key insights.
Lead an Analytics team that leverages a combination of tools and technologies used across the enterprise (e.g. SQL, Qlik, SAS, R Python, Hadoop, Tableau, etc.…) to provide actionable insights and routine performance monitoring
Develop and maintain a suite of “best-in-class” interactive dashboards & automated reporting solutions supporting our senior Credit & Risk executives
As an Analytics thought leader, you will:
Recommend new performance monitoring metrics and/or propose changes to existing metric frameworks ensuring what we measure stays relevant for our evolving Credit business
Influence best practices and remain informed with new/emerging concepts
Work with leadership to maintain an active roadmap of analytic projects and help guide the evolution and maturation of our Risk BI/Analytics solutions framework
Solid technical / data-mining skills and ability to work with large volumes of data; extract and manipulate large datasets using common tools such as SQL, SAS, Hadoop, or other programming/scripting languages (Python, Perl, R, etc.) to translate data into business decisions/results
Familiarity with data engineering, data management, data modelling, standard ETL techniques including extract, de-duping, cleansing, integration, and aggregation
Experience with reporting tools and applications, along with quantitative/analytical experience that includes methodology development, statistical modeling, programming (SQL, SAS, R, MATLAB), and/or data visualization (QlikView, Qlik Sense, and Tableau)
Strong project management skills with high attention to detail on data and a strong focus on meeting deliverables with time limitations - must have ability to multitask and prioritize
Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to lead teams performing detailed analysis
Takes personal ownership; Self-starter; Ability to drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders and facilitate communications between the business users and the delivery team.
Work with non-technical business users to understand their analytical needs, document and prioritize requirements, and help them effectively use the data and analytical tools that the team has developed.
Provides consultation and technical advice on analytics projects to ensure results meet defined client expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies.
Ability to conceptualize, design, and monitor portfolio performance and other predictive analytics in support of underwriting strategy changes and monitoring of delinquency and losses related to PayPal’s credit products
Ability to communicate concise and actionable business results and proposed strategies from vast amounts of data to senior management
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and can interact with and influence decision-making by non-analytical business audiences

10+ years of experience in a consumer credit or small business lending related position
3+ years of experience leading and managing teams of 3+ or more in the BI/Analytics field including experience with high data volume environments
Proven experience in the ideation, research, discovery, development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of quantitative solutions for consumer credit or small business credit.
Experience with Advanced Analytics and Data Science is highly preferred
Prior work experience in management consulting or BI/Analytics consulting is highly valued
Prior Project and Program management experience specifically on Analytics projects is highly valued
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred with emphasis on coursework in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, Operations Research, Financial Engineering, Systems Analysis, Finance)
