Manage employee relations & statutory compliance activities for all Legal entities to eliminate business risks arising out of employee issues or non-compliance and to ensure harmonious employee relations
Accountability / Major Activities / Tasks
Execute the Employee Relations strategy & framework by partnership with business and other HR sub-functions.
Investigations: Carry out full-blown investigations
Case management: Lead the Bangalore ER team and manage the cases within the required timelines.
Advisory: Provides advice, support and assistance by interpreting policies and procedures and by counseling the manager & employees and on employment, record keeping, grievances and other personnel matters and procedures.
Policy review: Analyze and review the policies and processes and keep abreast with changing employment law landscape and gather industry intelligence.
Manage Performance cases and POSH related cases
Manage employee related disciplinary proceedings, grievances and legal issues
Collaborate with HRBPs to resolve all employee disciplinary issues in accordance with defined policies (integrity issues, sexual harassment, insubordination, falsification of documents , performance improvement plans etc.)
Deal with Labor consultants effectively manages the contract labour related compliances.
Manage grievance redressal mechanisms as per the company global policies and also define and review existing policies as applicable to keep them updated against global standards.
Maintain and manage the vendors effectively to drive timely closure of cases.
Manage legal issues arising out of disciplinary actions or terminations to appropriate closure
Support deployment of training programs for HR teams, line managers for Prevention of sexual harassment and other policies to enhance the ER know-how and competency levels in the organization
Support training of Business and GHR colleagues for driving the culture of speak-up and listen-up.
Coordinate with external consultants, vendors for conducting ER specific niche training programs by collaborating with L&D team
Collate updates on labour law, amendments (if any) and latest case laws to organization (Business Leaders, HRBPs etc.)
Monitor adherence to all statutory compliances across organisation by supervising the Labour consultants and driving audits to mitigate business risk arising from non-compliance
Conduct Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) trainings across the organization to create awareness about the company’s Prevention of Sexual harassment policy.
Manage awareness programs/trainings being conducted at sites as per a defined timeline
Analyse data on training programs and all compliance related data to be published to the business.
Ability to supervise and guide the existing employment relation team on a variety of issues concerning but not limited employee attrition, job abandonment, performance improvement plan and other matters concerning employee claims.
Ability to manage high-pressured environment and think through the right approach to the issues.
Experience in handling POSH related cases and way forward.
Experience in strategizing litigation approach before various labor courts in India. Ability to lead communications and provide the update on strategic issues to senior management. Ability to provide expertise to HR Business partners and Business heads and Operation Group on labor and employment law matters.
Education- Qualification in Law / MBA in HR with work experience in Employee relations as a specialization.
Proficiency in written and spoken English. Ability to make good PowerPoint presentations would be an added advantage
Industry- IT & ITES companies, BFSI Captive organizations.
Awareness of Global / APAC employment laws is desirable.
Experience- Minimum of 14+ years
