What is the Tax Specialist in Global Corp Tax group responsible for?
Preparation and/or review of all U.S. federal, state, tax returns, as required for Franklin Resources, Inc. and its subsidiary entities. (Skilled in handling U.S. Federal Tax Returns, ERP Implementation (Enterprise Tax Solutions), US Form preparation (1120, 1065) Corporate Taxation. Complete other tax compliance and tax research requirements including participating in special projects in support of corporate tax goals and objectives as directed by the US Tax Manager. Research the application of U.S. federal and state tax laws, as well as court decisions, to aid in corporate decision making on decisions with tax ramification.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Tax Specialist?
Prepare U.S. federal and state tax returns, as required for Franklin Resources, Inc. and its subsidiary entities and provision to return calculations for federal and states
Assist with preparing quarterly estimated federal and state income tax payments
Prepare book/tax differences and quarterly provision calculations
Complete other tax compliance and tax research requirements including participating in special projects in support of corporate tax goals and objectives
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possess knowledge of tax software functionality such as Onesource Income Tax, State Apportionment, and Onesource Tax Provision
Must have computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft business applications, and other financial application
Skilled in preparation of U.S. Federal Tax Returns, State tax returns, US Form preparation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Accurate with numbers and attention to details
Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to work independently
Motivated to learn and be part of an organization that is embracing of changes, diversity yet steeped in stability
