  • Graduate degree or higher (MBA preferable)
  • A minimum of 10+ years (8+ years for Regular MBAs) of work experience, with at least 7 years of project/program management within a quality environment
  • At least 7 Years of Experience in developing and using quality frameworks to drive improvements through the application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools and concepts.
  • Experience in defining metrics, establishing quality dashboards and implementing quality management systems.
  • External market awareness, business analysis acumen, with substantive experience managing and measuring the success of a complex business area, exposure to recommending or executing game changer initiatives/projects.
  • Operations acumen and passion, with experience in establishing, measuring, and meeting service level agreements, improving the availability, performance, and quality of systems, and managing complex on-the-fly business concerns.
  • Has a background in quantitative decision making, ability to drive business/operations metrics, and driving adoption of different tools and resources.
  • Outstanding attention to detail; Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively & independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Exposure to working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology.
  • Demonstrated leadership with a bias towards action, supporting a culture of ownership and learning.
  • Skilled in collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and clear formal and informal communication with members of the remote and local management teams.

Retail Systems helps our retail business grow profitably by providing automation and tools for increasing selection, lowering prices optimally, managing in stock and getting the best terms from our vendors. The pricing operations team within Retail Systems manages pricing decisions for millions of items sold by Amazon worldwide. The pricing operations team is based in our India development center and has complete business and functional ownership.

The Program Manager – Business Quality in Amazon Retail Systems group will be a part of the Technical operations team based out of Bangalore and will own a variety of function wide goals on process improvements, innovation, quality improvement & automation. The most important task of this team is to keep amazon prices competitive, correct, sharp & relevant. Amazon Worldwide scale makes the role challenging and exciting at the same time, as this team manages pricing risk at an individual product level for millions of products on a daily basis, for all countries where Amazon retails. Pricing team is evolving and needs to get smarter to scale its processes, analytics intelligence and end impact on Amazon worldwide pricing. He/she will be point of contact to the retail/3P teams of Amazon worldwide and must therefore be comfortable and confident liaising with remote teams and senior leaders. The role involves influencing peers and stakeholders in other functions to achieve the operational and business goals assigned. The successful candidate should have the ability to work at all levels of detail to accomplish team/organization goals. The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazon’s core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices.

  • Owns the output quality for processes and functions
  • Analyzes defects and develops programs that fix root causes, escalating when required to drive closure

  • Reviews SOPs, processes, and tools to ensure that proactive changes have a positive impact on quality measures
  • Responsible for owning special projects within the group
  • Natural knack for delivering results and understanding a Retail business environment, where product pricing, revenue, cost & profit are an everyday topics
  • Owns structured communication with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Makes recommendations that are backed by sound rationale and relevant data
  • Owns program-based communication to ensure all stakeholders are apprised of the progress, changes, expectations, and next steps
  • Communicates seasonally to appraise the stakeholders of the shift in focus areas and priorities; calls out expectations
  • Establishes & drives business communication, reviews with senior stakeholders, i.e., business teams, and other key stakeholders for the entire function
  • Earns the trust of stakeholders through customer reviews, conference calls, dive transparency, and confidentiality are backed by sound rationale and relevant data
  • Owns program-based communication to ensure all stakeholders are apprised of the progress, changes, expectations, and next steps
  • Communicates seasonally to appraise the stakeholders of the shift in focus areas and priorities; calls out expectations
  • Collaborates with virtual teams who may not necessarily be reporting directly and ensure that everyone is aligned to and working towards common goals
