ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, implements, and manages regional service forward and reverse transportation and forward stocking programs to continuously optimize cost and service
Consistently review newly scheduled customer service requests and manage all outbound shipments to effectively support our APAC customers
Annually reviews pricing tariffs with carriers; initiate bids and manages negotiations for freight contracts and tariffs if required.
Advise for and operate most efficient transport strategy
Manages the process of review, audit, and approval of service forward and reverse freight invoices for payment
Evaluates all customer outbound shipments, ensuring that all transportation orders meet set out policies for product handling, storage, transport
Operate and communicate logistics related EHS and quality processes, incl. Non-Conformance/ Incident procedures and supplier quality audits
Proactively establishes a good working relationship with all freight forwarders and 3PLs
Executes Standard Operating Procedures for all service shipping activities
Supports product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements, liaise with Import / Export compliance function
Drives yearly transportation budgets process and works well within these set budgets and implements controls necessary to keep expenditures within budgetary limitations
Designs, implements, manages, and monitors logistic reporting systems to meet and exceed requirements
Provides creative leadership from knowledge of industry best practices and most current developments in logistics management
Participates in planning and policy development issues
Provides regular reporting to senior management on logistics issues
May oversee creation of procedures and communication material that document logistic practices
Participates in establishing short and long-term logistics objectives consistent with organizational strategy
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Education or Experience (in years):
Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business
5+ years of "hands-on" working experience in logistics or supply chain, including strong connections with regional logistic service providers.
Knowledge and skills:
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Proven knowledge of import / export matters to manage international transports
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Clear thinking mindset to understand complex situations and act adequately
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize diverse tasks with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines
High communication skills with the ability to work with and through global, cross-functional teams including internal customer, suppliers, and service providers
Ability to work in an office environment.
