About the role - Head of Operations – COO Wholesale
The incumbent will be responsible for overall management of the operations of a large 500 to 700 (including Identify opportunities to grow in terms of HC and complexity) complex LoB and 6 LOBs within Wells Fargo EGS offices in Hyderabad/Bangalore, India. The leader will be expected to engage with LoB partners at a strategic level, including conceptualizing, agreeing and driving initiatives to add value to the business. Operations represent substantial financial risk and performance has direct corporate-wide impact & develop strategy to lead alignment and integration into the enterprise. The incumbent will be required to develop appropriate relationships at decision making /critical leadership levels, work on global projects and aim for global responsibility. Will lead the transformation journey from current service delivery model to a trusted partnership and enable ownership.

The role reports jointly to the Head of Wholesale in WFEGS; and to 3 (COO, Head of Ops & Process transformation and Operations Area Manager) LoB Executives in the US.

Responsibilities will include:
Identify levers (Control, Change, Tech, and Analytics) to make a transformational impact at global level.

Build the business: End to end ownership,

Level of interactions: Influential conversation with key stakeholders (EVP level) to drive decisions, build credibility with rating agencies, CRE conference etc.,

Strategy: Influence and contribute to the strategy of the function or business as a trusted partner

Domain intensity: expected to be very knowledgeable and a domain expert, able to hold his own in discussions with senior and experienced partners.

Market Job Description

Principal accountabilities include:
‪Leading Operations for a large, complex LOB and/or multiple LOBs across countries

Expected to engage with LoB partners (how many and at what level) at a strategic level

Contributes to formulation of organization wide operational strategy and policy, may serve on LOB/ Organization wide tasks or project teams, including on tech advancements (How)

Industry expert who will provide Industry intelligence on market practices and developments to guide operations (define the domain), Must have good understanding of global trends and practices in back office processing

Work on aligning and integrating with the global business supported, which may include running global processes from WFEGS, working on global projects beyond WFEGS; and being an integral part of the global team

Deliver quality and cost effective off-shoring solutions to the US managers

To drive business planning for all business segments, Manage the LoB’s budgets, revenues and expenses

To support execution of global strategy from WFEGS

Engage the partners (counterparts in the US) to plan, assign and manage the delivery of work

Conceptualize, agree and drive initiatives to add value to the business.

Risk Management: proactively identify risks and build robust internal controls

Manage Reporting for emphasizing operational performance metrics, historical results, budgets, forecasts and trends

Candidate Profile:
Demonstrated ability leading a major function or large geographic segment of a financial services organization

Demonstrated ability in managing relationships with senior management

Demonstrated ability in being part of a global function and working at a global level

Demonstrated ability in program management

Demonstrated ability in driving change, especially through technology, aware of tech advancements

Solid budget forecasting and risk management skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage large teams through middle and upper level managers.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to company wide strategy and to use strategy to drive results.

Must have good understanding of global trends and practices in back office processing

Must be able to demonstrate true results in impacting business outcomes and must be an innovative leader.

Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas

A seasoned, relationship-driven executive who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.

Exhibits excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Required to have over 20 years’ experience in Wholesale Banking in diversified streams with last 6-8 years in senior roles leading large teams. Experience with in-house centres, and experience in overseas locations in banks would be an advantage. It will be advantageous for candidate to have 5 – 7 years experience in the specific business area.

Leadership Experience in Wholesale Banking operations, preferred in overseas markets especially global banks, else related areas will be considered (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance.

Qualifications: Required to have higher level degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (highest level related to B.Com, M.Com, MBA or CA)
