Job Location: Chennai

The Role

The Global Security Assessment Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring that the bank Infrastructure security services that define the secure Infrastructure meet the confidentiality, integrity and availability standards of the bank. This also includes checking the performance of the bank’s selected network service providers.

Security Analyst supports audits of the regulatory audit engagement around Technology Operating environment and corporate initiatives in need of a secure service or Technology Transformation,keeping the bank proactively protected from external / Internal electronic attacks.Role-holders will typically engage with a number of parties during the course of assessmentactivities, these will include technical specialists associated with the system under assessment,penetration testing experts, other members of the IT and Information Security community as well as system owners at a senior level within the organization.

The Security Risk Analyst is primarily responsible for carrying out program risk assessment activities for both client-facing and internal operating platforms. The objective of this is to make sure that systems are deployed accordingly to the Bank policy and standards, regulatory

requirements and security best practice


What the Business Does

RBS is a global bank, head quartered in the UK. To keep pace with increasing technology risks in diverse geographic and regulatory environments, RBS has created a global IT Security department, responsible for ensuring adequate protection of IT infrastructure. The IT security function will support the organisation to deliver sustainable value by forming the first line of costeffective defense on business technology risks. Global Security assessments team has beenidentified as one arm within the overall strategic approach to ensure adequate controls are in place for the bank’s IT infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

As directed by the Security Assessment Manager.

• Assess the Risk, vulnerabilities and threats associated with new or operational IT platforms;

• Identify and report associated risk to the business service

• Co-ordinate activities and input from multiple sources in order to develop an accurate and

business-relevant understanding of risk levels;

• Delivery of relevant and timely risk assessment reports in line with approved processes;

• Provide consultancy services to assist in the development of remediation plans.

Skills you need

• Educated to degree level

• Excellent command of spoken and written English

• Very good understanding of risk assessment and management principles

• Good knowledge of current IT Infrastructure platforms, practices and trends

• Experience of one or more popular IT security risk assessment methodologies

• Ability to communicate technical risk issues effectively, to customers who may, at times,

have a non-technical background

• Broad knowledge of technology generally and Information Security technology and

methodologies particularly, including for example, web server security / firewalls / networks

/ encryption / PKI / TCP/IP / UNIX / Windows / PCI DSS / ISO 27001&2 etc.

• 5 or more years experience of Information Security / Risk Management experience

obtained in a large corporate environment preferably financial services

• Professional certification (CISSP, CISA,)

• Post graduate qualification in Information Security

• Understanding of legal and regulatory issues affecting the organisation, both locally and


• Professional certification (GIAC,CEH)

• Additional foreign language skills
