The main role of an Order Engineer is being responsible for design, cost estimating and implementation from non-standard customized pump applications. The overall responsibilities are related to the engineering processes, engineering procedures and engineering KPI’s.
A key responsibility will be providing CAD support to Erpe Mere and Assen for both in quote stage and order stage. This besides the intent to release orders in the SAP environment from the Assen and Erpe Mere facilities and align the projects with dedicated order/project engineers at those facilities.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Give technical support to sales departments at the quotation stage by adequately answering their requests (tickets), converting the customers’ requirements into quotations that clearly defines the scope of the potential order.
Independently develop new parts using our 3D CAD software, managing all technical elements while maintaining cost and quality and take required initiatives to successfully comply to the customers’ specifications and in line with the actual technical standards and the legal regulations. Create (technical) instructions and communicate these towards other departments, like production or purchase.
Ensure that the actual technical standards (DIN, EN, ISO, API, …) and legal regulations (Machinery Directive, ATEX, CCOE, Food Contact Material Regulation, …) are applied throughout the department.
Participate in project teams.
Helps to initiate and support standardization projects in good cooperation with the Manager Commercial Engineering, Product Engineering and Product Management.
Optimizes the use of engineering systems and tools like 3D CAD modelling and 2D draft, MS Word & Excel templates.
Reviews and evaluates technical specifications for pumps and spares. Extracts applicable client requirements and translates / communicates specifications to subcontractors, vendors and internal organization.
Reviews order specific documentation requirements and agrees specific responsibilities and milestones for all concerned documents.
Creates material master data and product structures in the ERP system.

Knowledge of shaft sealing (mechanical seals)
A good knowledge of MS Office and Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD software), or another 3D CAD software.
Experience with SAP 6 ERP System is a plus.
A basic knowledge of metallurgy (strength, wear resistance, machinability, castability, chemical resistance, etc.).
Knowledge of actual technical standards (DIN, EN, ISO, API, etc.) and legal regulations (Machinery Directive, ATEX, Food Contact Material Regulation, etc.)
Driven to improve.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electromechanical Engineering.
Experience within pumps, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, e.g. internal gear pumps, is a plus.
Experience within drive systems, automation, motor control or instrumentation is considered a plus.
