Job description
Strong SQL expertise. You can write a query to do almost anything.
Deep understanding of various database objects and their applications - Tables, views, functions, stored procedures, triggers, etc.
Experience in data modeling and understanding of data warehousing architecture including star and snowflake schema design, data integration of disparate systems
SQL server administration experience. You also have the basics of running Microsoft SQL Server users, permission, backups, recovery, monitoring, and that sort of thing
Database tuning experience. Help us make our database faster by running diagnostics, optimizing queries, building indexes, and performance tuning
Experience with best practices around database operations. Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues. Ability to test/ track bugs at the raw data level
ETL experience is a must (SSIS). Understanding of various raw data sources (flat file, ODBC, XML, JSON) and how to manipulate them.
Understanding of common data warehouse best practices and data cleansing to get data from raw sources to final products
Willing to work in an Agile development process and tools (JIRA/ Bamboo/ git/ etc). You can address bugs with QA, design schemas with the rest of the engineering team, and respond quickly to other business needs
Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements and break down the work into manageable tasks
Experience working in production systems
A strong desire to learn new technologies
