Role Synopsis
The Project engineer- Sampling role is one provide complete solution for production sampling business line, starting from techno-commercial bid to execution of the post award order too. It involves both technical and commercial knowledge including project management role.
This role need mechanical design back ground with knowledge of selection of components, understand the properties of the components, able to provide complete integrated solutions
Commercial and project management awareness and capable of working to the level II requirements in Proserv Technical Career Development.
The Sampling Engineer offering technical support to; local and global engineering/project teams; local and global operations teams, to ensure the delivery of product and project engineering output according to Proserv design and development procedures, within agreed timeline and budget.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)
- Contribute to the development, commercialization and sustaining of; production Sampling products like manual sampling system, mini separator, sand sampling system and associated systems in support of the Proserv Sampling business offering
- Assess functional and technical specifications to produce an output which offers the best solution to project requirements, considering timescale; cost; safety; and Proserv, client, and industry standards
- Assist Project Manager to develop project function objectives, and KPI according to functional QMS system
- Wherever possible, integrate products and technologies within Proserv to develop solutions
- Perform design and development activities in accordance with Proserv quality management system processes and procedures
- Contribute to the output of engineering design work to produce required product and project documentation (3D models, manufacturing drawings, calculations, procedures, reports, commercial documentation)
- Monitor and report on project progress against timeline and budget
- Check and Review work of colleagues for product design and project approval
- Represent Proserv at client meetings
- Attend and lead assembly, commissioning and testing of company equipment onsite and offsite
- Where required, input into incident investigation of company operations, equipment and processes
- Create engineering & commercial output for tender documents to perform proposal activities
- Liaise with engineers throughout Proserv to gain experience of company product lines and look for ideas on how to explore new markets, directly with existing products and technologies, or by combining existing Proserv and 3rd party products and technologies
- Support members of the engineering, projects, operations, supply chain, sales and commercial teams to aid the growth and development of the company
- Offer direct and indirect mentorship to developing engineers, technicians, interns and work placement students
- Perform any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements
- Lead as an example to the team and always follow company values
- Supervise the team and conduct PDP accordingly
Qualifications
Education
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or suitable equivalent)
Preferred
- Completed or working towards MEng or Masters level learning
- Obtained or working towards Charter-ship within a recognized body (IMechE/IET etc.)
Experience
Essential
- 5 years plus in the Oil and Gas industry (or similar relevant, transferrable experience)
- Proficient in the use 2D and 3D design packages for modelling, drawing
- Project management skills (planning, cost monitoring, reporting, risk analysis and monitoring, client management, scope monitoring and VOR)
- Good understanding of engineering manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, post fabrication and machining treatments.
- Knowledge of ISO/API/NORSOK standards and codes relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.
Preferred
- Offshore experience in an operational or service role
- Subsea and ROV tooling design within the Oil and Gas industry with a working knowledge of mechanical design, electro-hydraulic tooling and control systems
- Knowledge of well assemblies (installation, workover or decommissioning)
- Completion of engineering or workshop internships during study
- Practical experience through operational roles or hobbies and interests
- Participating in internal and external audits
- Proficiency in use of PDM systems
- Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP system
- Familiar with EdgeCAM CAD/CAM CNC Manufacturing
