YOUR POSITION WITH TNC
Are you a marketing professional with knowledge and enthusiasm for social media? TNC is seeking a Social Media Specialist to oversee the organization’s global social media channels by assisting with the creation, execution and oversight of social media content and connecting with TNC’s social followers to help advance the organization’s goals. Although this position has location flexibility, TNC is unable to accommodate personal moves.
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for fostering dialog, building community, and engaging with TNC’s audience through its global social media channels. They will create daily social content, manage a social media content management system, monitor social conversation for proactive opportunities to engage and coordinate responses with relevant stakeholders. The Social Media Specialist is also responsible for implementing best practices and providing guidance to a community of social media admins throughout the TNC network.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Creates, curates, publishes, and manages social media content (images, video, articles) for TNC’s global social channels
Develops and maintains a consistent brand voice for TNC across social media platforms
Manages the planning, editing and publishing of social media editorial content calendars on a consistent cadence
Proactively monitors, listens and responds to comments, questions and concerns with appropriate and engaging replies that adhere to brand guidelines and encourage dialogue
Manages a social media content management system for TNC’s social channels
Coordinates closely with content teams to produce compelling social-first content
Develops and maintains social media guidelines and best practices. Shares social media updates with TNC social admin community
Works closely with analytics team to coordinate social media performance in an effort to optimize performance of content
Coordinates with various TNC stakeholders (membership, policy, retention, etc.) to improve a holistic cross-platform user experience/journey
Supports the development of paid social campaign planning
Responsibility and accountability for meeting assigned project goals and objectives
Opportunity to act independently within program goals
May work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience organizing and coordinating projects.
Experience writing and/or editing publications and related materials.
Expertise and deep interest in social media platforms, best practices, and consumer behavior in a social and digital media environment
Background in creative development, social media analytics tools and campaign analysis
Inherent knowledge of cultural topics of interest and their impact throughout social media
Familiarity with using a social media content management system or scheduling tool
Exposure to developing media plans and executing paid social campaigns
Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies
Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
Multi-lingual skills appreciated
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred
Experience in social media copywriting and community management
Demonstrated understanding of major and upcoming social media platforms
Highly motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
