What is the GTA Analyst in Global Trading Analytics group responsible for?

The GTA Analyst is responsible for supplying quantitative & qualitative information to global trading desks & other internal business partners such as Investment Management teams, Global Research Management, Global Compliance, Investment Compliance, Legal, Global Trade Services, Client Services, Global Product Strategy, and Franklin Templeton Technology. This involves preparing, analyzing and reviewing Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and adhoc reports. The Analyst is also responsible for working on different projects such as GBEC (Global Best Execution committee), GTOC (Global trading oversight committee), Broker tear sheets, Client Commission Reports, Board Reports etc., and also adding relevant data analysis based on the various types of reports. Apart from providing the reports, the Analyst is repsonsible for analyzing data points and summarizing the analysis for the teams mentioned above. Analyst is also expected to be familiar with basic SQL to generate the reports and should also be able to write queries and work with other technical teams such as Trading, Investment Management & Sales teams for any complex reports in order to meet the reporting expectations/deadlines.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of GTA Analyst?

Duties / Responsibilities:
List in descending order of importance.
Use clear and concise language, including active verbs; closely related duties should be grouped together in one responsibility statement.
Define acronyms, if they are to be used.

Daily Responsibilities:
Prepare and review all schedule and adhoc reports which may involve but not limited to:
Collecting, massaging, analyzing and publishing reports to investment management teams.
Share relevant data analysis & insights with internal or external business partners.
Add value by providing updated trading data insights and helping traders understand the impact of their decisions.
Work with Business Intelligence Analysts to arrive at newer ways of data mining to address new and complex queries.
Work with external data mining vendors to set requirements on the project deliverables for Trading & Inv. Mgmt. groups.
Work closely with traders to help them better understand their strategies through Transaction Cost Performance Analysis, Best Execution and Trade Oversight reports.
Publish management reports to Trading, Investment Management & Sales teams in a timely manner.
Work closely with the team and business partners to resolve any issues and ensure to continuous follow-up for the source files, so that – the SLA’s are not impacted on delivery of the investment management reports.
Work with management to develop policy, workflow and technology best practices, identify issues and develop creative solutions.

Monthly/Periodic Responsibilities:
Complete Monthly, Quarterly reporting within stipulated deadlines.
Adding relevant data analysis based on the reports, Work closely with senior team members to understand Transaction cost analysis, Bloomberg functions and work on TCA presentations.
Work with technical team/s if there are any issues with the database while working on reports and advice for any improvements.
Prepare Client Commission Reports, Directed and corresponding brokers, Global Best Exec. Committe, Global Trading Oversight Commitee and Client Commission Reports on behalf of FT which are very important to our business as we deal with the external clients and it invloves decision making capabilities from HODs.

Regular interaction with trading desks.
Participate in knowledge sharing session to team to improve the overall process by efficiency- Adding analysis, Automation etc
Fill in the daily checklist.
Take part in process and non-process trainings and complete WBTs for self-development
Bloomberg and other financial certifications
Initiate some classroom sessions to present financial markets related topics to increase the team's knowledge base.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

A college degree in accounting/business or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience with some exposure to financial markets.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Finance Services / Financial Industry experience.
Experience in Reporting, MS SQL Server, MS Excel Macros is preferred.
