Role

The role supports Functions Financial Control & Reporting activity undertaken for RBS Group by the S&F FC&R team. Responsible for providing customer ready financial outputs and analysis to enable the functions business to meet their strategic goal.

What the Business does

This role is based in the Cost Financial Control team at Finance Hub India. Finance Hub India is a part of RBS's Global Finance network providing a range of support services to multiple franchises and functions across RBS globally. FHI has a functional structure and are hubbed as global Centre’s of Excellence. This team supports cost accounting and reporting across all franchises, regions and countries. They also support invoice & expenses processing, month-end & fixed assets accounting, management reporting, budget, etc

Your Responsibilities

As an Associate Financial Control & Reporting, your key responsibilities will be:

Delivery of Exco packs, support on CRP initiative, ad hoc reports and insightful analysis within a controlled framework
Delivery of Monthly Forecast, Cost Reduction Programme and tracking Budget variances
Supporting the business to find opportunities and focus areas through robust analytical review of the financials
Understanding of RBS Group legal entity structure and ensuring correct legal entity used at time of Budget/Forecast
Supporting the business in relation to Change Controls (Hierarchy inter/intra movements)
Provide input and support process improvements
Establishing strong working relationship with the global stakeholders
Support on FRC project
Ensure processes and procedures adhere to the appropriate policies and control environment (incl SOX) governance
Process reviews for timely identification and escalation of any potential risk and issue along with appropriate resolution
Working as a Subject Matter Expert leading to improvements within the team and wider Divisional framework
The Skills you’ll need

Finance professional with at least 4-5 years’ post qualification experience, ideally gained in a financial services/banking environment (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent)
Good cost management, planning, reporting and analysis experience
Commentary writing and presentation skills
Experience of working and building strong business relationships in a changing environment
Extensive knowledge about financial control
Proficient knowledge of Reporting/Budgeting /Planning with strong analytical skills
