Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the job
> Experience transitioning products from paper to production
> Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them towards design and manufacturing process development
> Proficient in parametric CAD modelling, CATIA V5 experience is mandatory
> Proficient in PDM software specifically, Teamcenter
> Very good knowledge on Engineering Materials specifically, metals (aluminium, mild to ultra-high- strength steel). Knowledge of composite materials is plus
> Very good knowledge on metal stamping, casting, plastic injection moulding and joining technology
> Good knowledge of Design Quality Assurance (DQA) and its major elements such as Benchmarking, Design Concept Sheet (DCS), GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, DVP&R etc.
> Good knowledge of various surace coating methods
> Very good knowledge in problem/troubleshooting techniques (8D, FTA) experience and design process auditing capability
> Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis
> Good knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle
> Very well versed with Industrial Standards both voluntary (SAE, ISO, IEC etc.) and mandatory standards (AIS, FMVSS, UN, VDA, GB etc.)
> Good knowledge of IATF16949/Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and internal auditor as of plus
> Basic knowledge of E&E systems and its architecture, electronic components and its function, and electrical cable routing in CAD
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Responsible: Benchmarking, preparation of mechanical system and subsystems design concept prepartion and it's trade-off, mechanical design of Chassis System Parts/ systems like Steering, Brakes, Axles, Suspensions & Chassis Frame for a tyical BEV , e-3W. He should have good understanding of internal packaging, integration, detailed design (2D and 3D CAD) preparation by adhering to DQA (DCS, GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, DVP&R etc.), internal & external standards and customer requirements.
He/she will be working for the following four major areas,
1. 3Wheeler platform projects: Chassis, suspension, brakes, steering, Axles, etc.
2. Quadricycle Platform Projects: DAC complete
2. Special Projects : Mechanical Structural design for DAC based on the project scope
> Preparation of concepts and detail parametric design (parts and assemblies) in CATIA V5 for Exterior and Interior parts with a special emphasis on the BIW parts for a typical BEV ; in a complex packaging environment from predevelopment to series development phase
> Evaluate, balance and trade-off the design concepts for the attributes such as DFA, DFS, cost, quality and time line
> Interface and DMU analysis, generate a report and seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders to resolve packaging and integration challenges
> Preparation, review, control and monitor Design Quality Assurance (DQA) documents and its major elements such as Benchmarking, Design Concept Sheet (DCS), GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, DVP&R etc.
> Should be able to lead a team of three to four engineers on BIW Projects related to Interior & Exteriors for typical BEVs/ 3W/ Microcar,etc.
> Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities, challenges, self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
> Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
> The structured way of working, and good documentation skills

> In order to support the mechanical design and integration team, the candidate needs also to be willing to quickly learn some of the areas in which he doesn’t have experience
