We are looking for a Full-time Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to work overnight in Bangalore during US standard business hours. The position will be remote, based out of your home office and reporting to the Order to Cash Lead. In this role, you will help manage the accounts receivable process that includes generating invoices, keeping track of payments received and following up with Couchbase’s customers as necessary. Other responsibilities will include helping with the day to day revenue transactions (such as generation of sales orders), providing suggestions for process improvements, working cross-functionally with Sales Operations and General Ledger Accounting teams, and providing PBCs to external audit support.
Prepare, verify, and process sales orders & invoices using NetSuite/Salesforce
Maintain up-to-date billing system through timely generation of invoices from NetSuite and sending over to the customers
Manage cash collection/application for multiple currency accounts
Monitor customer account details and appropriate follow-up for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities via email and phone
Review customer contracts to ensure they adhere to company policies
Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts
Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations
Resolve client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency.
Generate and distribute monthly account statements to customers.
Connect with customers to arrange payment and/or resolve issues preventing payment
Manage day-to-day collections in a high-volume transaction environment.
Enforce payment terms and drive improvement in the Company’s Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
In collaboration with the Sales team, reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due
Assist in policy enforcement and process improvements
Post customer payments by recording checks, credit card payments and ACH/Wire transfers in compliance with financial procedures and policies
Vendor set up for new customers (Supplier forms, banking info, W9)
Support monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close responsibilities
Ad-hoc special projects, and other requests as needed
Monitor vendor accounts for credit balances (misapplied cash and credit memos) and resolve by conducting thorough research and processing through to appropriate resolution
Previous experience with a software company
Understanding of software revenue recognition accounting
Hands-on experience in operating MS-Office suite with previous experience working on NetSuite, Salesforce, Blackline and/or RevSym
Attention to detail and superior organization skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Must be willing to work from home during standard US business hours
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Must have strong analytical, organizational, verbal, written and communications skills.
Proven work experience of minimum of 2 years as Accounts receivable accountant, including past due account collections experience
Strong computer skills including MS Office (particularly Excel) required.
Previous cash collection experience
