We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Private Credit (GDM) team in the role of a Desk Analyst (AVP) for EMEA region.

Department Overview

Markets & Securities Services (MSS)

Markets & Securities Services enables HSBC's corporate and institutional clients to access financial markets and liquidity, unlock investment opportunities, manage risk and transact seamlessly. This is done by bringing together financing solutions viz. sales, trading and distribution across multiple asset classes; research; clearing and settlement; global and direct custody; and asset servicing. The Global Debt Market (GDM formerly DT&F) unit in MSS combines trading in Credit, G10 Sovereign Debt and Structured & Index Products.

MSS – Bangalore

HSBC MSS has established offshore capability in Bangalore to support Front Office globally. As part of this Bangalore MSS is seen as the 4th hub of HSBC after London, New York and Hong Kong. The Bangalore MSS team works across different product groups (FX, Equities, Rates, Credit) in diverse functions which include Quants, Structuring, Trading algorithm design, Trading analytics, Financing, Institutional & Corporate Sales services, Platform Servicing, COO, Controls etc.

Principal responsibilities

Provide real time analytical support on credit situations to the Loans trading desk, by analyzing a variety of par / HY situations. Core product outputs being credit “Tear Sheets” and “Financial Models”
The role requires a sound understanding of Credit Markets, especially leveraged loans, and the ability to liaise with trading desks to ensure timely and accurate delivery of tasks / projects identified
Provide high quality credit analytics with granular views around credit situations, where a deeper level of understanding is required / for key desk axes / positions. Depth of analysis, foundation for recommendations and clarity of opinions are critical
Work with EMEA Private Credit team on all stages of an O2D (Originate to Distribute) deal cycle including screening leads, analyzing credit quality, projection modelling, term sheet preparation and other activities supporting a deal closure.
Keep the desk up to date with specific news flow and aid with the maintenance of contact databases / lender lists / holder lists
Preparation and formatting of presentations / management information for desk use. Collating information / data sets primarily using Bloomberg and other databases
Individual will be required to work extensively in an integrated team environment with the onshore EMEA Private Credit team.
Requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's or equivalent University degree, or equivalent work-related experience.
Experience as a credit analyst / Distressed debt analyst/ ratings analyst / Leveraged Finance analyst will be preferred
Ability to work with senior management globally and communicate “credit fundamentals” in an effective way
Ability to understand complex and diverse instruments
Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner
Proven ability to prioritize workload effectively in line with business priorities
Able to work independently, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines
Familiarity with Bloomberg and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
