Job Description:
Responsibilities and Scope Impact / Scope

Lead effective and efficient service delivery of Tax processes
Support process optimisation & standardisation initiatives, implement process excellence practices and ensure initiatives are met on time and within budget
Build and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development
Manage senior leadership & stakeholder expectations by liaising with management from Business and other Corporate functions

Responsible for assigned Tax Support processes (Indirect tax compliance, Tax reconciliation, Tax filing, Transfer Pricing including Intercompany processing and calculations, provision of direct tax data) in a captive shared services organisation, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports
Manage the tax support operations service delivery for regions such as EMEA and APJ
Proactively monitor filing of returns and payments of tax dues to ensure they are done in a timely manner
Review inputs provided to the external tax service providers
Monitor updates of activity lists and tax schedules and ensure tax processes are adequately documented
Ensure timely turnaround of all customer queries and issues with a focus on customer service (including escalation management, if required)
Ensure proper controls such as SoX, internal controls, etc. are in place
Support and coordinate the audit process (Internal Audits, SOX Audit, Local Statutory Audit, External (Process & Systems): liaise with auditors to finalise list of deliverables and documentation needed for audit, and to provide necessary explanations
Report the KPIs / SLA's to the management / employees and provide support to deliver Service Management Framework
Manage and support transition of additional roles in a Captive SSC, as and when required
Act as "trusted advisor" on Tax support processes and influence decision making within limited scope
Proactively support process improvement, policy development, and system implementation initiatives that impact the function globally
Act as a conduit between delivery and system architecture/IT teams in terms of providing requirements & highlight issues from a process standpoint
Manage and distribute workload to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with the corporate timetable
Ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged within the team (including cross-training within the team)
Manage a team of individual contributors supporting Tax processes
Liaison with senior leadership & stakeholders (including Global Process Owners) and manage their expectations through effective communication and process delivery
Required Skills and Experience Education and Experience

Accounting qualifications will be an essential (CA, CPA, ACCA)
8-12 years’ experience
People manager skills/exposure along with subject matter expertise will be desired
Direct relevant experience of working in a Captive SSC / Business Process Outsourcing Organisations will be desired (in addition to years of experience/qualification)
Knowledge and Skills

Expertise in Tax areas such as Indirect Tax / VAT, Direct Tax, Intercompany / Transfer Pricing / International Tax
Up to date technical knowledge of VAT and indirect rules and awareness of corporate Tax rules
Experience in activities related to tax advisory, deal support etc. will be preferred
Post qualification Tax experience of working with group companies with an international reach
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) Accounting
Excellent knowledge of operation of control frameworks such as SoX
Strong experience of finance & accounting systems (Oracle / SAP / Netsuite / Assurenet tools) as well as Tax Applications
Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies
Flexibility to travel across geographies
Experience of managing senior onshore customers through daily/hourly interactions (including external tax service providers)
Team management skills & direct people management experience
Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly articulate expectations and outcomes with various levels of management, both in Finance and Business
Fluency in English (both verbal and written)

Experience of managing transition of Tax processes from different geographies
Able to liaise and connect with finance teams/business teams & effectively navigate within a matrix organisation to deliver desired outcomes
Strong business acumen and analytical skills (Ad-hoc and MIS reporting)
Service minded and customer centric approach
Highly organised and motivated team player (Constantly looking for ways to enhance their understanding of the country specific tax needs and develop a deep working knowledge)
