Training Manager inspires the growth of a culture of research and learning towards excellent student learning outcomes across the city. They analyse city level data, identify trends, causes and co-design interventions to lead to shifts in learning outcomes across all grades. They will work closely with the Program Lead in their city to implement strategies for Fellows and PMs aligned to the Program Implementation Plan. They will also feed learning back continuously, document learnings and resources towards strong resource management and developing organizational memory.
The Teach For India team in Hyderabad is an amalgamation of people from different backgrounds, professions, cultures, and circumstances and yet this small team functions more like a family and less like co-workers. By the end of the academic year 2019-20, the Hyderabad City Operations will be in its eighth year of operations. We will have around 16 Staff and 344 Alumni leaders in the movement. Teach For India, Hyderabad currently has 88 Fellows in 33 schools directly 116 impacting classrooms. We also have nearly 187 Alumni based in the region contributing to the movement. The team works towards furthering Teach For India’s short-term theory of change in Hyderabad and the surrounding regions by getting committed individuals to dedicate 2 years to help us achieve our vision of “One Day all children will attain an excellent education.'' The team also works towards creating committed and connected stakeholders to further Teach For India’s mission of building a movement of leaders to eliminate educational inequity.

The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategy and Design
Analyze city level student achievement data, identifying trends and underlying root causes
Co-design (with PL’s/ PM’s) city-level interventions to address root causes
Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions towards goals
Design and develop assessments and integrated curricula tools to ensure rigor in content and curricula across all strands of the student vision
Curate resources and best practices from Fellows and PM that foster growth on the LDJ
Facilitation and Execution
Facilitate learning experiences for the Fellows and Staff team in the city to deepen their instructional practice and pedagogy aligned to the Program Implementation Plan
Drive implementation of key resources and tools like Firki, ISCs and student surveys
Execute key strategies such as COPs/ FA track/ masterclasses/ Turn Around Track/ Good to Great etc.
Culture and Communication
Inspire and contribute to a culture of research and learning in the pursuit of excellent student learning and outcomes
Seek, nurture and evaluate effectiveness partnerships for Fellow/ Staff learning and development
Run pilots into key areas of need that enable us to make strategic shifts in the program
Support and guide Fellow research projects in key areas
Lead communication and feedback loops between city and national team
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
At least 2 years teaching in a low-income school with evidence of leading students to holistic development
At least 1 year as a Program Manager or at least 1 year in a Training & Development role
Excellent content knowledge
Good knowledge of literacy practices that shift outcomes across the curriculum
Excel/ data analysis skills
Knowledge of Curriculum, Pedagogy and Content
Strong data orientation and evidence of using data to direct/drive interventions that led to growth
Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate effective and inspiring learning experiences for self and others that led to growth
Basic Proficiency in Facilitating for Adults
Ability to influence others across multiple levels (PL; PM; Fellows etc) and external partners
