We are looking for a Senior Member Technical Staff to join our IaaS team within our Bangalore division. Your role would entail Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing Hybrid (Physical + Virtual) and AWS cloud-based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems. Build and manage platforms, automate, extend/build-on many open source offerings to provide irresistible stakeholder experience
The Team: Infrastructure-as-a-Service ensures the continuous availability of the technologies and systems that are the foundation of athenahealth’s services. We are directly responsible for thousands of servers, petabytes of storage, and handling thousands of web requests per second, all while sustaining growth at a meteoric rate. We enable an operating system for the medical office that abstracts away administrative complexity, leaving doctors free to practice medicine
Provide hands on first level troubleshooting and triage of incoming requests: resolve transactional requests, escalate requests that require planning or subject matter expertise, gather requirements and refine customer requests, route requests to appropriate engineering teams.
Own the lifecycle of an issue from start to finish, ensuring proactive communication with our customers and the backend engineering teams. Gather feedback from customers and ensure any lessons learned are documented and communicated to the engineering teams
Recognize trends in requests and take action to resolve issues proactively based on the impact of the trend
Volunteer for work in the backlog and commit to quality delivery; Coordinate efforts across the team to ensure completion and effectiveness
Participate in Rotational on-Call
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering
6 -8 years of professional experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service background
Previous experience in a production environment with exposure additional environments and their
corresponding troubleshooting methodologies. This includes:
Networking equipment and protocols
Web protocols and systems
Familiarity with the Linux command line and server environment
Database environments (Oracle, MySql)
Storage platforms such as NetApp, Pure, and Kaminario
Familiarity and experience with public and private cloud environments (AWS experience would be
Familiarity with open source tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana,
Kibana, Graylog, ELK Stack
Familiarity with release engineering tooling such as Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, JIRA
Familiarity with Cloud Native, SRE, and DevOps engineering philosophies and methodologies
Familiarity with installation, Maintenance and troubleshooting of Redhat Linux
Familiarity with hardening of linux servers
Familiarity with Patching and vulnerability fix of Redhat Linux Servers
Familiarity with server Build and OS provisioning
Familiarity with AWS, VMware and Openstack
Familiarity with scripting such as perl, Python
