The Haematology Team at IDC develops Beckman Coulter DxH haematology analyser. The DxH analyser is an automated analyser for in vitro diagnostics. The analyser focuses on counting different types of cells in the blood and also in identifying each individual cell’s size, shape and internal structure. The DxH system employs Automated Intelligent Morphology and flow cytometric technologies to deliver results.

Responsible for the development and maintenance of projects though conception, definition, design, documentation, and release to production.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in relevant product development projects.
Works collaboratively across engineering disciplines to ensure consistency of common technologies.
Conducts root cause investigations and Failure analyses to solve reliability and performance issues on legacy products.
Designs and analyses mechanical systems to achieve product specifications.
Develops component and system tests to validate performance of mechanical components which demonstrate manufacturability, compliance with CE EMC, and environmental stress.
Maintains existing products as required to meet safety, reliability, and customer expectations.
Organizes and actively participates in design reviews and project reviews.
Adheres to quality system requirements in the development of new products including all required documentation.
Understands Danaher Business System tools and applies to day-to-day work.
Ensures compliance to organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Skills/ Desired Characteristics
Engineering graduate in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 13+ years OR a Master’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
No less than 3 years of experience in product development including design, manufacturing, and market use of product.
Experience with IVD and/or Life Science instruments – a plus.
Familiar with ISO quality systems related to design control and product release requirements and audits.
Experience with CREO CAD Tool.
Demonstrated experience with ASME and / or ISO dimensioning and tolerancing.
Mechanical design, modelling, performance analysis, and trade-off analysis.
Packaging of cameras, optics, printed circuit boards, and microfluidic pumps and valves a distinct plus.
Background in the design and construction of glass / metal / acrylic flow cells including adhesives a plus.
Knowledge of instrument enclosure design for EMC/CE compliance a plus.
Materials and component selection for reliability and chemical compatibility.
Any experience with hands-on machining and bench fabrication a plus.
Rapid 3D prototyping a plus.
Good systems knowledge to work within a cross-functional and remote teams
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams.
Ability to travel as needed.
