Background on CreditVidya

CreditVidya powers lenders with AI and big data technology to help them underwrite first time borrowers profitably. Our focus

is to works towards financial inclusion of those Indians who don’t have traditional credit indicators such as bureau footprints or

even a monthly salary slip. We are invested in by investors like Matrix, Kalaari and Bharat Fund who have collectively invested

USD 10M so far. Our products have proven to be so successful in assessing credit risk that as we enter our new phase of growth,

we are willing to share the risk and reward of our lending decisions with our lending partners. We believe that this approach will

accelerate our vision of “Harnessing technology to power an inclusive world”.

Increasing penetration of smartphones means that a borrower is as likely to access credit from their phones as they are to visit a

physical branch of a lender. In line with this thought we want to aggregate demand for our lending partners by collaborating

with consumer internet platforms i.e. e-commerce, travel, ed-tech, payments etc.

Our idea in a nutshell is “Our internet platform partners can originate a customer at a fraction of the cost that anybody else

can. We can underwrite new to credit customer better than anybody else. Our lending partners have a lower cost of capital

than anybody else”. This synergy creates deep and profitable partnerships among organizations looking to solve the problem of

financial inclusion in India.

Position:
  • Reporting to Head of Growth
  • Individual contributor to start with and can develop into a team role depending on business growth
  • Based in Bangalore
Attributes

  • Seasoned hunter with at least 7 years of corporate sales experience in BFSI, technology or consulting
  • Focus on new client acquisition /new revenue generation
  • Previous experience in closing large and complex deals
  • Proven track record of winning new business independently
  • Exposure to the entire sales funnel i.e. starting with prospecting and culminating in revenue
  • No qualms about cold calling, sending cold messages on LinkedIn etc. during the prospecting stage
  • Commercially adept at handling negotiation, legal paperwork and closure
Responsibilities

  • Onboard consumer tech platforms to originate credit products
  • Generate opportunities by sending emails, setting up meetings etc. to relevant contacts at target platforms
  • Own the entire conversion funnel – prospects, outbound activity, meeting, follow ups and closures
  • Keep track of existing and new consumer tech platforms as potential partners
  • Implement a sales playbook which includes whom to reach out to, the sales pitch mailers etc.
  • Develop 360 degree understanding of CreditVidya’s products, competitors and overall fintech landscape
  • Stay updated on market developments that may have a direct impact on business

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence to pitch to senior stake holders at target organizations
  • Aggressive in reaching out to potential partners but patient and persistent to deal with long sales cycles
  • Well organized and rigorous in taking a deal from pitch to closure
  • Passionate about financial inclusion through democratizing access to credit
  • Ability to work with multiple teams within Credit Vidya & Target Organizations
Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of the banking domain
  • Conversant with key technology terms
  • Credit bureau understanding
  • Understanding the concept of Big Data and Alternate Data
  • Well versed at working on Microsoft Office i.e. Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Ability to map client organization using tools like LinkedIn
Education

  • Graduation/ Post-graduation from a reputed institute
