Role Description
Synamedia is building a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution for Video and Broadband Syndication retailers to integrate with their backend and securely deploy a next generation experience and maintain control of their devices and data.
We are looking for energetic Test Automation Engineer for our development centre in Chennai. This is an exciting opportunity where individual will not only get opportunity to integrate and qualify the stack across wide range of video devices but also have opportunity to qualify the solution with cutting edge features, test and deploy them with some of the leading Video service providers in North America.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive test plans from requirements and user stories in an Agile environment
Author, execute and maintain complicated test cases and test suites
Automate test suites to run using scheduled jobs using one or more conditional scenarios
Test distributed software systems and web applications
Maintain, improve, and support existing automation test suites spanning numerous microservices
Investigate new technologies and implement/integrate them as needed
Collaborate with distributed development and test teams on numerous automation initiatives
Work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and quick learner
Understand, adapt, and evolve numerous existing test suites
Personal Attributes
4 to 7 years of Professional Experience in deriving comprehensive test plans from requirements and user stories in an Agile environment and authoring and execution of test cases.
Advanced SoapUI/ReadyAPI experience and intermediate Selenium experience.
Working Experience with RESTful services, testing distributed software systems and Web applications.
Good understanding of Linux Scripting (Bourne/Bash/Ruby/Python) and OOP concepts (Java, C++, or similar language)
Experience with software deployed in highly distributed, preferably cloud-based, environments spanning data centers
Self-starter and Self-Reliant.
Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodology
Performance Testing (jMeter) and Non-functional Testing experience
Able to work in the full development lifecycle
Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting skill and strong team collaboration working with distributed development and test teams
Education (Preferred Degree)
M.S / B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas is preferred
