Payments business serves multiple distinct business regions of HSBC Bank covering their entire global payments operations. A number of differing platforms are used for different business regions. The fact that the large payments transactions expose substantial financial/reputational risks to the Bank; the business service is gearing itself to take it to next level by strengthening its management team.
Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas
The Nostro Account Management Unit has been created to provide control oversight over Cash Nostro account opening and closing and to maintain transparency and completeness of HSBC’s Cash Nostros. This a key control function to reduce and mitigate risk of fraudulent activity and inaccurate financial reporting.
The role supports the newly formed Nostro Account Management team to support at a global level across all businesses to improve the overall governance and control on the Nostro account Management itself. The role typically will be responsible for the end to end delivery of the work stream, implement changes globally, agree the roles and responsibilities with the stake holders, improve the turnaround time.
The role requires management of complex and broad range of operational challenges/issues across countries.
The role requires proactive collaboration with multiple stakeholders to deliver results.
The role holder should be a strong leader in change initiatives and drive desired outcomes ensuring cost efficiencies while at the same time drive customer satisfaction.
To acquire detailed understanding of the process design and to be able to exceed SLA standards
Ensure that processes and procedures are continually reviewed and improved and changes are communicated and implemented effectively
Should be comfortable presenting to stakeholders and walking through business processes and collating feedback
Understand Management Information (MI) requirements to be able to produce, analyze and interpret MI
Be able to engage with Cash Nostro Correspondent Banks to perform Periodic Validation Processes
Maintain highest standards of audit and compliance requirements
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to meet business objectives
To handle escalations and liaise with the Business Area as necessary
Perform other projects or special assignments as required.
