About the Role
The Australia – India Water Security Initiative (AIWASI) is a multiple-million dollar program established following a Joint Working Group on Water meeting in September 2020. It aims to improve access to safe water and sanitation services in cities/regions experiencing significant water-related challenges. This role is responsible for taking forward technical elements of AIWASI work in India.
This role will formulate and implement critical elements of the program and work closely with city and regional government officials, and other stakeholders including contractors and those from the NGO sector. They are responsible for developing and maintaining momentum in the program, ensuring progress is being made and bureaucracy at all levels is navigated efficiently.
This role will be responsible for the in-country management and day-to-day operations of the program. They will work closely with a projects manager implementing this work. The unit will report to the Economic Section at New Delhi Post and operate under the broad guidance of relevant DFAT staff based in Canberra.
This role is appointed on a contractual basis for a temporary period of 12 months. This agreement may be extended subject to ongoing approvals.
