HR Technology organization provides IT support to the Morgan Stanley Human Resource division. The Rewards Technology team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining applications, which helps the firm to manage firm wide compensation and long term incentive administration. We also provide technology expertise for vendor solution implementation and serves as the Morgan Stanley technology guidance to those vendor solutions.
Innovative and Experienced Technical Application Development Manager with strong Leadership and Development Skills required for HRIT Rewards group. As an application development manager, you will manage a team of developers to implement employee compensation and deferred compensation related applications.
You will work closely with our HR compensation analysts (local and global) to understand business needs, formulate technical architecture, implement technical solution that is scalable and maintainable, mentoring your development team (skillsets development, code review, work effort prioritization) and work closely with engineering and infrastructure team to support the suite of compensation systems.
You are expected to maintain senior client relationship and serve as local senior technical lead to the rewards technology team and HR technology in general. As we work in a global team, you will also maintain close relationship with teams in other regions (New York) to ensure continuity of the work products.
You will also maintain a strong understanding of industry and enterprise-level trends. You will work in a dynamic agile team that uses Scrum for its workflow.
Minimum 15+ years in a large financial service organization or other related industry with focused on application development
Management of technical development team
Strong proficiency in technical development with distributed programming (UI, middle tier, backend), e.g., Java, databases, middleware (Soap/XML/Messaging), Spring, MQ, Scripting, DB2, SQL, multithreaded systems, AutoSys, various BI reporting tools
Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills to thoroughly understand how to interpret business needs and translate them into architect/technical design
Experience in iterative/agile development practices and DevOps
Experience in project management
Self starter with proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
Strong written and verbal communications. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and business groups, across regions, roles, and able to interact effectively with all levels
Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations/individuals gracefully. Ability to influence decisions/mindsets
Experience with Financial service industry, finance or HR related domain knowledge
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience with Vendor package implementation
