WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. World Resources Institute began in Washington, DC, in 1982 to provide cutting edge analysis to address global environment and development challenges. WRI spans more than 50 countries, with offices in Brazil, China, Europe, India, Indonesia, and the United States. In all of these locations, WRI works with government, business, and civil society to drive ambitious action based on high-quality data and objective analysis.
WRI India Communications team, based in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai, oversees the strategy and outreach for the Institute in support of WRI India’s leadership, program teams, and centres. Communications is crucial to WRI India’s success at achieving rapid, systemic changes.
The WRI India Graphic Design Associate will be a key member of the WRI India core communications team and will be based in New Delhi, India. The candidate is expected to have outstanding brand identity and graphic design skills. One of the key responsibilities is to create and maintain visual content for print, social media and video collaterals. The position requires someone who is creative, a strong visual artist, meticulous and enthusiastic. An interest in environmental issues and/or international development is highly desirable. She/he will cocreate visual content for WRI India and will collaborate with various teams across WRI India to create deliverables.
Concept, design and layout of creative, informative and innovative communications products for projects. List of deliverables may include, but not limited to:
Graphic design for all type of communications material – newsletters, reports, infographics, data visualisation, collaterals, presentations, brochures, flyers, posters and other print publications. All these collaterals need to be produced keeping in mind the WRI India brand guidelines.
Create social media friendly graphics and templates for online posts. The candidate is expected to ideate creative strategies to showcase visual content on digital and social media, as well as an understanding of other web best practices and standards.
Design interactive PowerPoint/ Keynote presentations and graphics for videos.
Layout and designing of communications materials for events and workshops.
Develop and execute creative ways to translate research and policy recommendations into compelling storylines, including through multimedia online content, such as videos, photos, and infographics.
Good photography skills and Video editing skills will be an added advantage.
Understanding of website designs and new media platforms. Collaborate with developers to create web identities and portals.
Ensure that all WRI India events follow brand guidelines, working closely with project teams and external vendors for the same.
Though the key responsibilities are focused on Graphic design, the candidate is expected to have good skills of presentation and writing.
Strong graphic design skills. Professional skills on Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign are compulsory. Mastery of photo and video editing skills is appreciated.
Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s degree in design/communications with relevant communication design experience of minimum 4-6 years.
Well versed in presentation applications such as PowerPoint and Keynote.
Highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Strong communication skills, including written and oral communications.
An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse group of internal clients.
Enthusiasm, flexibility, technical curiosity, and willingness to learn.
