Department Overview
The Risk Services aligns to the Corporate services organization and supports the current, expected demand for business process risk management. The Risk Services team supports line of business risk management and the corporate risk management.

About Role
Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or may provide oversight to a compliance function. Works with assigned business units and provides compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk to identify, assess and mitigate regulatory risk in all business activities. Develops testing strategies and methodologies; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls and identifies issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations.

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications

7+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk) in large MNC Bank

Financial Institution or their captive BPOs (Third Party Service providers should be avoided) or a combination of both; of which 4+ years must include control testing knowledge.

Ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically to senior and executive leaders. Direct experience in Control Testing in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both.

Ability to lead through adversity and adjust to changing priorities.

Strong Microsoft Office skills.

University degree in Business or related discipline.

Experience of more than 4 years in Risk Management.

Strong analytical skills.

Desired Qualifications

Independent ability to accurately evaluate risks and controls, develop effective test plans, exhibit appropriate judgment regarding issues, and prepare and communicate findings.

Full command of process risks and controls, including a high level of sophistication around evaluating control design.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience negotiating with all levels of staff and management.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

High degree of initiative coupled with a strong ability to prioritize work and meet accountabilities with limited direction and oversight.

Ability to explain complicated processes to all audiences.

Compliance and Operational Risk certifications (such as CIA, CRCM) or Chartered Accountant.

Experience in compliance or Operational Risk Management in Financial Services Industry.

Demonstrated ability to execute effectively in a matrixed organization, develop partnerships with many business and functional areas.
