The Systems Services and Support Analyst in Batch Services will work in a team environment responsible for providing 24x7 support of batch processing in the production environments. Batch cycles execute on the Mainframe and Distributed platforms using the Control-M product. This role supports business units across the organization ensuring that batch processing service level agreements are met with each cycle execution.

The analyst is responsible for normal day to day functions (migration of code, supporting scripts/ Job Control Language (JCL), and executables into production libraries) along with being able to make insightful decisions by analyzing opportunities, risks, and impact of all actions on the business. This role also requires the ability to connect intentionally with numerous business partners such as application owners, developers, testers, business analysts and customer service reps to understand and ensure smooth operations of the services required/requested by the end users. The candidate chosen for this role should be able to demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a commitment to achieving objectives while helping to maintain a culture of teamwork across all participants.
Service Level Management
Help monitor SLAs and perform non-critical and minimally critical abend recovery. Ensure that all non-critical and minimally critical abend recoveries are handled in a timely and accurate manner. Escalations are initiated when needed. Handle routine Work Intake requests. Adhere to procedures consistently.
Maintain awareness of change activity in your area. Handle routine one-time scheduling requests. Ensure error free processing of one-time/ad hoc scheduling requests. Actively participate in execution of Disaster Recovery exercises.
Incident / Crisis Management
Inform manager and teammates when critical issues are detected. Assist and take direction from Senior Associates during the recovery process of critical issues. Assist senior associates in gathering appropriate resources to address impacting (or potentially impacting) issues. Practice Active Advisor mentality in all situations to hone skills. Take notice of managers or senior associates that perform this role well and try to emulate their expertise. Ensure that non-critical and minimally critical incidents are recovered to customers’ satisfaction and line with Operation Level Agreements (OLAs).
The Skills that are Key to this role
Technical / Behavioral
Hands on experience in MVS, JCL, SDSF, Endevor and SAR.
Hands on experience in creating JCL and procedures
Demonstrated working knowledge on scheduling products like Control-M, ZEKE, ESP or OPC.
Experience in Mainframe Batch Monitoring and Production Support.
Ability to independently analyze and provide break fix for batch abends
Proven skills in impact-analysis and root cause analysis.
Good Understanding of Holiday Batch Processing
Good Understanding of Mainframe Capacity Management from a Batch perspective
Good understanding of Thruput Mangager and WLM
Good understanding of Batch Recovery Procedures during Disaster Recovery test
Good understanding of managing the JES spool (devices, utilization).

Experience on Cloud Solution for batch processing is a good skill to have.
Experience in Release and Change Management process
Good Understanding of Scheduling Product Architecture Setup (Distributed and Mainframe) and Agent configurations

Good Understanding of Setting up and Maintaining Scheduling Calendars

Batch Operations group is responsible for the completion of nightly batch processing and making sure all the SLA’s and deliverables are met and ensure the applications are online and ready for start of business day.
