The areas that are most important are :
Good communication skills and presentable.
Be able to do more than just simple communication work like spreadsheets, basic analysis, PP. This is very critical.
Travel co-ordination is very critical.
Integrity and confidentiality. Not idle chit-chat. Focused only on work and not throwing weight around.
Attention to detail. No proof reading needed for the work.
Would really want a person who is steady and will have longevity with the company.
They are very independent operators and don’t need a “secretary”.

Day to day planning, organization and briefing of the MD/JMD’s diary - “good to have”
Arranging the travel and accommodation -Must Have.
Dealing with the post and correspondence and communications. – good to have”
Set up business meeting and appointments, conference, events, organizing the venues and hospitality for visitors / guests. Basic co-ordination skills are needed.
Maintaining the updated databases and mailing lists and correspondences. “Good to have”
Preparing ppt / presentation as per the requirements - This is a “Must Have”. Not just ppts but a basic idea of handling spreadsheets and being able to do analysis based on inputs given.
Document management, editing and proofing -“Good to have”.
Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role at a comparable level in a company.
Understanding of the requirements and implications of working to a MD/JMD/Chairman
Excellent administration and secretarial skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn organizational structure and the objectives of the team
