The Role
Support the G2V model of growth reporting into Chennai SBO
Investigate the events of a voyage, deviations from the initial agreement and check what was contractually agreed around the events
Prepare and negotiate claims with customers to maximize income for Shell while reducing cost paid by Shell
Strong negotiation skills towards third parties to guarantee settlement of claims in agreed timeline according to internal policy.
Ensure all claim activities are correctly reflected in financial and trading systems
Work with peers in Chennai & Dubai to create inter-operability and support best practices and share knowledge
Collaborate with other SBO’s teams to support migration and share key learnings.
Use a continuous improve mind-set to support process improvements
Follow internal procedures to receive approval for payments and escalate to Team lead when needed in a timely manner
Take responsibility for safety, compliance and audit readiness
Support and work with internal customers, like Commercial OPS, Contracts, Trading & Supply, manufacturing teams to increase operational excellence, identify profit leakage and implement remedies
Periodically review most common root causes of demurrage with internal customers and advise how to reduce such costs
Proactively advise all Shell stakeholders on improvements creating end to end value for Shell

Work closely with agent and other intermediaries to ensure claim acceptance and defence put forward to the
Ensure timely recovery of claims and correct reflection of all activities
and financial implication in trading systems
Ensure No Time bars and reduction in accruals and overdue to ensure clean Crude Trade books
Work the internal procedures to receive approval for payments and escalate using the escalation matrix to recover the maximum value for Shell
Effectively manage key stakeholders and collaborate across a global team as required.
Manage all communications with internal and external stakeholders – Work with Trading, Commercial Operations and Finance Operations in identifying and resolving issues related to T&S movements.
Support for continuous improvement on GOCS hubs MI capabilities and analytics including Digitalization by T&S.
Actively seek CI opportunities using L-ESSA principles and digital tools to reduce risk in process and exposure for Shell.
Sustain the 5 day TAT for Suspense account clearance for crude, supporting demurrage claims process and timely vendor payments
Be a backup support for the Products claim processing activities and manage the interface with Finance for tasks such as accruals management, the invoicing.
Take responsibility for safety, compliance and audit readiness
Responsible for training peers/ new joiners and ensuring subject knowhow is captured and documented (to be kept updated)
Support Optimization initiatives that delivers improved Performance, System Capability & Project Delivery, including Process Standardization activities.
Propose new ways of working through engagement with T&S partners and leverage best practices from other parts of the organization.

Translated Company Description
The team is part of a T&S Operations-SBO team within Trading, Supply and Manufacturing. Collectively the team handles transactional activity on behalf of Commercial Operations such as Demurrage, Post Deal Claims & Operational support, internal reporting, Radar voyage actualization and supports invoice processing, and financial reconciliations. Customers Port Agent, Inspection companies, and Counterparties, also internally companies within the Shell Trading network and its Supply company affiliates. The work is carried out using a wide range of Trading and Scheduling IT Systems such as DEX and RADAR. Continuous Improvement is a core function of the team.
