Reporting to the President of our Asia Business unit the Director of Operations will be responsible for developing, managing and expanding our business in Singapore. The Director of Operations for Singapore for the Asia Business unit is a crucial senior leadership role within our international business. Reporting to the President of our Asia Business unit, the Director of Operations will be responsible for developing, managing and expanding our business in Singapore. The DPS Groups current client base in the USA, Europe and the Middle East regions, are represented in Singapore and the DPS strategy is to build on our existing corporate relationships and expand our Global footprint within the Singapore market.
Key responsibilities will include:
Develop a Singapore Operation based on a DPS Contract Services model (staffing Engineers and supporting personnel)
Successful delivery of all client needs. Meet delivery timelines, maintain high-quality outcomes and maintain business budget & margin targets.
Manage relationships between customers and internal DPS functions, works with local office teams to assess resource availability.
Review market analyses to determine engineering customer needs, price sche
dules, and resource availability.
Meet a high level of delivery while leading a safe and high quality service
Successfully develop new business leads and project wins in line with DPS strategy.
Responsible for developing new client relationships and converting these to placements wins.
Lead Business Development in main sectors (Pharmaceutical, Life science, Semiconductor, Oil & Gas) efforts including marketing support, proposal writing, and sales support where necessary.
Provide leadership for developing Job specification and defining placement personnel roles and responsibilities
Ability to sell work and market DPS personnel skills/experience.
Develop, maintain and advances client relationships through sales strategies and client contacts, resulting in new contracts and added value for our clients.
Coordinate customer accounts and activities nationally.
Track record with proven leadership in the aspects of technical services, engineering and construction will be an advantage
Ability to provide direction in the preparation of proposals in response to RFP/RFQ requirements, review bids and terms of sale.
Leading a team of engineering, design and construction personnel, ensuring that all company standards and policies are enforced throughout the Singaporean operation.
Attract, develop & retain a team of expert personnel to support a number of Clients locally.
Manage and select engineering projects, in addition to overseeing technical staff.
Maintain high quality engineering standards in line with DPS quality requirements.
Ensure the integrity of multiple service budgets through approved scope changes, schedule changes, budget changes and contingency reallocations.
Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy to achieve company sales goals and profitability.
Responsible for meeting operational, financial and business targets.
Full accountability for P&L for the operation, payroll activities and statutory filing and reporting.
Deliver agreed sales revenues for the company.
Demonstrated leadership experience in building and developing a sustainable business. In-depth knowledge of local market and local professionals.
Knowledge at leadership level in Design, Construction and Facility Engineering support to Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or similar industries.
Respected and known business leader in our industry segment.
Strong management skills , experience in placement model, business development and people/team management skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit, energy to build and sustain a successful local operation.
Excellent track record of running operations, project delivery and business expansion.
Proven track record in financial and business modelling acumen.
Ability to travel internationally (Approx. 5%) to company and client meetings.
Education: a degree in a relevant field is required, Engineering, Business or a candidate with a strong proven track record in technical sales
At least 10 years relevant industry experience with a further 5 years of proven leadership role.
The role will be based in our offices in Singapore.
