The IT department supports all business areas through the cost-effective identification, prioritization, design, development and implementation of technology-based change, promoting standard architectures and services. It also provides reactive business and technology support services, adapted to the on-going change process.
The IT team is responsible for the technical direction of a wide range of applications used across many business areas, the management of all development work for those applications according to agreed scope, budget and schedules, working with stakeholders in the business to identify and deliver solutions ensuring optimal use of the applications, and to help facilitate change management within the business as required.
The applications managed by the team include vendor-based products that interface with many of our internal systems, in-house locally developed applications using strategic technology, global applications developed or implemented by overseas BNP Paribas offices, and small-to-medium scale applications built using Excel or Visual Basic.
There are several global applications for which this team is either responsible for the relationship with the development teams in Paris including the development of interfaces to local systems, or for which the team provides technical resources to the local IT teams. Many of the applications managed by IT are also used across several business areas, providing a standard technology solution.
The team is made up of Application and Project Managers, Business and Systems analysts and Developers. Key technologies used within the team are BizTalk server, .NET (ASP, C#), SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Basic and Excel VBA.
The IT team work closely with internal stakeholders including business stakeholders and other teams within IT (Service Delivery, Solutions Architecture team, Technical Architecture team, Environment Management team, Project Management Office). Communication with external stakeholders is equally important and may include BNP Paribas Territory IT who manages networks and infrastructure, Paris, London and Singapore branches for global projects and standards, vendors, consultants, suppliers and occasionally BNPP Securities Services clients.
