Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager the incumbent is responsible for:
turbine day to day operations, routine and breakdown maintenance,
new installations if any,
minimize downtime, ensuring that good engineering standards are adhered to,
designing and implementing a preventive turbine maintenance program,
determining the minimum and maximum levels of spares and materials that are maintained in the stores,
identifying technical training requirements and implement training programmes to ensure the turbine staff are suitably trained,
to ensure that the turbines are available for un interrupted operations.
Qualification: B. Tech Mechanical (full time four years course from a recognized University).
Minimum of 12 years experience in maintaining double extraction cum condensing turbine.
Full understanding of the operation of above equipment and factors affecting efficient operation
Maintenance of the above equipment
Planning of maintenance and creating maintenance schedules
Hands on fitting skills
Supervision of labour
Problem solving/trouble shooting
Full understanding of boiler water treatment & R.O. Water treatment plant
Operations and maintenance of R.O. Plant.
The turbines and their technical details are as below:
1 x 30 MW turbine and generator operating at 67 Kgcm-2, steam temp 515oC, 11kV (TDPS generator & Shin Nippon Turbine)
1 x 21 MW turbine and generator operating at 45 Kgcm-2, steam temp 515oC, 11 kV (TDPS generator & Shin Nippon Turbine)
8 Kgcm-2, 1.6 Kgcm-2 steam extraction and steam condensing.
