Job Description

The Role:

If you feel you are capable enough to deliver a level of service that differentiates RBS from its competitors, then the role of Analyst is ideal for you.

As part of the role, it is essential you possess knowledge of IRS product like vanilla interest rate swap, mark to market swap, Cross currency swap, Basis swap, FRA, CAP, Floor, Collar, Swaption& other derivative interest rate swap settlement mechanism. Investigation and resolution of all pre-settlement breaks for daily and quarterly payments is an important task. The role holder will be responsible for monitoring of queues in RBS Application to ensure all value date payments are confirmed and settled after performing required checks, and liaise with counterparty, MO, sales support and other key stakeholders to ensure all issues resolved in a timely manner, and before daily and coupon settlement date.

An Analyst will be responsible of investigation of breaks related to clearing house like LCH, CME, EUREX & SEB, investigation and resolution of all pre-settlement breaks for daily and quarterly payments, and handling high volume cash flow in IMM rolls.

Your Responsibilities

Define and implement the Rates & Credit strategic plans, across multiple dimensions customer offering, revenue, costs, balance sheet, capital and liquidity. Collaborate and partner with executive colleagues across the businesses and the Group to deliver long term value creation. Ensure strategies take account of economic, market and regulatory changes
Business Model: Ensure the management teams across Rates &Credit functions and regions are set up with unambiguous accountability for front to back ownership of the business
Governance: Create and maintain an effective and efficient governance structure across Rates & Credit, based on the principles of Good Corporate Governance
Culture: Define, drive and shape the culture of the business to embed strategic goals throughout all levels: client focus, high performance business, strong control, engaged and empowered workforce, etc.
Financial Delivery: Ensure Rates & Credit delivers acceptable financial performance within acceptable risk parameters, maximizing RoE by delivering revenue, and managing cost, capital and risks
Balance Sheet: :Ensure Rates & Credit manages the divisions Balance Sheet and related risks including managing balancesheet structure, currency, tenor, capital, liquidity and funding requirements. Ensure division has a funding and capital plan agreed with Group Treasury
Efficiency and Cost Management: Drive disciplined cost management and a culture of cost consciousness and operational excellence across the department
Financial Management and Budgeting: Ensure Rates & Credit implements financial management disciplines which allow the timely and prospective management of the business
Client Focus: Set the tone from the top by promoting client focus throughout strategy, communications and client engagement. Ensure client focus in built into Rates & Credit culture
Customer Delivery: Ensure Rates & Credit senior leadership teams are accountable for their delivery of commitments to RBS customers
Reputation: Build, safeguard and uphold the reputation of RBS Group across all stakeholders: investors, press, politicians, public, staff, clients, etc.
Regulatory Relations: Act as interface for the Group as required with regulators, industry associations, policy makers, etc. Ensure relationships are open, transparent and in good faith
Supervisory Culture: Supervise direct reports and their activities effectively, including effective record keeping and documentation of key people issues. Ensure direct reports and management teams are competent and have clearly defined responsibilities, both collectively and individually in line with the five pillars of supervision excellence:

Requirements

Skills you need

Graduate (Preferably MBA)
0-5 years of investment banking experience
Strong Knowledge of Derivative products and market terminology
Understanding of the compliance and anti-money laundering requirements
Ability to operate in a dynamic and faced paced environment of growth and change
Strong Analytical, Excel and Power point skills
Knowledge on current market and regulatory initiatives eg CIG, Clearing and working of the CCPs,Client Asset and Money regulations and impact
Knowledge and first-hand experience of the C=C Novations process, Credit event process especially from a settlements standpoint
Strong Knowledge of Derivative products and market terminology
Strong awareness around risk and controls
Prior experience on LCH CME flows and structured trade settlements
Prior experience on DTCC, Markitwire, Swapswire and CCPs
Good understanding of ISDA definitions and terminology.
