Check and approve the work of more junior staff to eliminate errors and reduce rework.
Establish and maintain technical standards.
Provide functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole
Provide an expert pipe stressing service
Produce other Technical Piping documents e.g. pipe specifications, In-Line Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets etc. when sufficient pipe stressing work is not available
Works within and develops Company and Client procedures.
Applies expert knowledge in innovative and challenging ways to deliver solutions to complex problems
Addresses and resolves any functional issues within a project through use of technical capability and engineering judgement.
Qualified Engineer with a relevant pipe stress background
Ability to assess that the design of piping systems on a project are in accordance with industry design codes using Caesar II, manual calculations and experience
Shall have the experience to adopt a practical approach to pipe stress problems and be able to liaise with other interacting disciplines
Commercial awareness Preferred
Experience in industries such as Refinery & Petrochemicals
Understanding of both static and dynamic analysis
Exposure to international standards and codes (particularly B31.1/B31.3/EN13480)
Checking of pipe stress calculations
Pressure calculations such as wall thickness, reinforcing pad, etc
Support design including anchors, trunnionsetc
Spring hanger and bellows selection/design
Should be able to prepare drawings, work with customer engineers
Familiarity with Navisworks
Experience in contracting environment, relevant site experience.
Mobility and flexibility to work anywhere in home country essential.

Must communicate effectively in verbal and written format at all levels, including project documentation for clients, project reporting and day to day discussion of tasks with engineers and others
Communicates complex technical information accurately and clearly.
Liaises regularly with the functional leads of other engineering disciplines.
Provides engineering reporting in to the Engineering Management Team.
Has direct client communication at a senior technical level
