Job Description / Information
Design printed circuit board layouts and routings of components,
Maintain and support a global PCB library within standards and work closely with Component Engineer to update component engineering systems and database.
Participate with design teams for PCBA and library standards development.
Coordinates with appropriate units of the business to evaluate outputs and deliverables for integrity, function, durability and manufacturability.
Reviews engineering documents and supporting documents to verify design integrity and adherence to company and industry standard.
Analyzes documentation and confers with engineering staff to resolve details not completely captured or defined in specifications.
Works to identify process improvements
Works closely with Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Component Engineers, and Process Engineers to Create schematic symbols and PCB component footprints.
Publish library parts to the global library system for use by the Design Engineers across the Organization.
Process CAD Library requests for new parts and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or manufacturability of the component footprint.
Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by other librarians for accuracy and compliance with standards.
Participate in the usability, testing, and validation of the library change control system and process.
Assist with user support of the tools and processes used for the library change control system.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent CAD or related software skills. Cadence PCB Editor is preferred.
Knowledge of Component Management System like CIPE, Vault preferred.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent mechanical/electrical/software design solving skills.
5-8 years design related experience
Bachelors in engineering in Electronics or related engineering/manufacturing curriculum, technical certification or equivalent industry experience
