Minimum 6 -10 years of experience in Network domain
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Network architecture and monitoring experience; preferably within a within a large global organization.
Knowledge in VOIP would be an added advantage
The candidate must be up-to-speed with current and emerging infrastructure technology including, MPLS, Unified Communications, Virtualization, Cloud Computing, SDN, in order to significantly contribute to engineering cross disciplinary solutions meeting Infrastructure and Line of Business requirements.
Experience designing and implementing robust architecture and reference architectures.
Detailed understanding of network, Infrastructure and application design concepts.
Previous experience implementing and designing Network preferred.
Experience managing in a complex matrix organization, will need to coordinate and partner across Cognizant groups, geographic regions and other Lines of Business, while driving a specific Network agenda.
Comfort working at all levels of seniority, both within the Cognizant organization or other client institutions, industries or Partners, Vendors etc.
Understanding of network design principles with and solid knowledge of the MPLS, VPLS, Overlay Architecture, BGP,OSPF, WAN Optimization, OSI model.
Understanding of network design principles with and solid knowledge of the Switching & Wireless technology.
Understanding of network design principles with and solid knowledge of the Network security, firewall, IPSec, VPN, IPS, DLP etc.
Knowledge of VOIP/UC would be added advantage
Network or Platform certification (CCIE, JNCIE, N+, CCNP, CNA).
Ability to think strategically; work with a sense of urgency and pay attention to detail.
Ability to present complex solutions and methods to a general community.
Must be reliable and adaptable.
Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Outstanding work ethic.
Strong team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources.
Experience with working on global teams across time zones, cultures and languages.
