Leading 5* Hotel Hiring "Chief Engineer" (with Star Hotel Experience) from M.Tech/ B.Tech background

Location: 5* property in kolkata

1.To assist Director of Engineering on all aspects of engineering, HLP & Repair & Maintenance cost controls and the operational efficiency of the property.

2. To ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures. Ensure that any tests and inspections required on plant by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed. Ensure that the hotel fulfils all compliance requirements.

3. Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative/predictive maintenance program of all the equipments. Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are strictly followed and regularly update and upgraded depending on the nature of complaints. Ensure daily round of equipments and machinery and has to ensure the 100% availability and update the checklist for the same on daily basis. Ensure that plant and equipments are correctly operated M & E plant and equipment to suit the needs of the hotel

4. Coordinates and assists management of hotel on internal campaign and activities of energy conservation programme.

5. Coordinates and participates in the environmental programme/activities as prescribed by the environmental committee.

6. implements a preventive maintenance program to try and achieve “zero” defects for all equipment in the Hotel

7. lead, train and develop skills of the subordinates to get optimum quality, performance and productivity

8. Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating all the preventive maintenance and repair work .

9. To ensure each section of the Engineering is managed effectively, and results in maximizing productivity and quality of work.

10. Coordinates and assists management of hotel on internal campaign and activities of energy conservation program


As Chief Engineer, you are responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including energy conservation. You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards. Specifically, a Chief Engineer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Lead the Engineering Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules
• Communicate with Housekeeping to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities for Guest rooms and public areas
• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and property
• Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
• Prepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for Engineering
• Perform daily checks around the hotel
• Conduct lift emergency release procedures as required
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
• Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
• Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise
• Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs
• Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses
• Coordinate renovation bidding, define the cost and scope of the project, and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost effectively
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
• Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives
• Manage all Team Member related activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters, and team motivation
