Morningstar has a second line IT infrastructure support team in Mumbai, the team supports functions of the Global IT infrastructure group. The second line support group handles incidents and service requests escalated from Morningstars monitoring, service desk and desktop support groups and will work in collaboration with third line engineering teams based in Chicago, London and Shenzhen.
Morningstar India is looking for a Server Infrastructure Support analyst based in our Navi Mumbai office. The ideal candidate should be someone who thrives on delivering high quality operational output, new experiences and technical challenges.
As a Server Support Analyst working in Morningstars IT infrastructure team, you will be involved in the support of Server operating systems and virtualization platforms for Morningstars growing IT infrastructure that currently covers 30 offices and 8000+ virtual and physical servers in 10 Datacenters worldwide.
Interested candidates should have a proven track record of supporting a significant sized server Infrastructure. The successful candidate for this role should have at least 6 to 8 years experience in a server and hypervisor support focused second line support role and should have experience of UNIX/Linux, VMware ESX and Windows server 2008/2012/AD. Candidates should have a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and concepts, and an appreciation of security standards, best practices and principals.
Candidates should have excellent English, strong communication skills and a degree in computer related science or related scientific field with strong academic credentials is required. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant IT industry technology certifications. (E.g. ITIL foundation, RHCE/VCP/MCSE).
Candidate should be willing to work in 24X7 rotational shifts.
Day to Day responsibilities:
a. Managing and maintaining the operational integrity of our systems
b. Respond to incidents and alerts in the stipulated SLAs
c. Configuration and Troubleshooting of Windows Operating System issues
d. Configuration and Troubleshooting of VMware Infrastructure issues
e. Configuration and management of Internal & External DNS, DHCP & FTP services
f. Provide innovative solutions to meet Morningstars technical requirements
g. Participation in the planning & Execution of DR drills
h. Create and manage technical documentation
i. Collaborate and support product development teams for application onboarding
Technical Skills and Requirements:
a. At least 4 to 8 Years of VMware & Windows OS Administration experience
b. Internal and External DNS support experience
c. Experience of automation using PowerShell & Chef
d. Understanding of Linux & AWS services like VPC, S3, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudFront will be an added advantage
e. Excellent knowledge & experience on SSL/TLS Certificates
f. Troubleshooting experience on OS performance issues
g. Experience of security standards, best practices and principles
h. Strong understanding of CIFS, NFS, FTP, SFTP, FTPS & HTTP/HTTPS
i. Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle and lead multiple tasks
