Job Description

Purchasing :
To prepare Materials budget in co-ordination with user department and purchase.
To oversee function of Materials Planning for, Medical Consumable, General Consumable, printing Stationary, General Stationary for kauvery Group.
To look after Purchasing of Equipment, Furniture, Medical Consumable, General Consumable, printing Stationary, General Stationary for kauvery Group.
Coordinating with the end users, consultants for finding cost-effective alternates
Monitor purchasing activities and track cost trends of various items; Work with the purchasing team and guide them to reduce overall purchasing cost.
Coordinate with Store to minimize lead time in procurement of goods. Coordinate with Store to minimize lead time in procurement of goods & standardization of material.
To standardize the materials across the group and to ensure the standardization of all the materials
To manage the equipment maintenance and ensure the coverage of AMC for all the equipments
Follow-up with Accounts for processing the payments.
Inventory Management :

Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
To study and analyze the consumption pattern and value on monthly basis and find out reasons for variance than budgeted value.
To control /minimize and Stock Outs by taking up with purchase and keeping a watch at stock movement and ensure stocks are preserved safely and issued on need properly.
To ensure Optimum / minimum inventory is held and inventory control is strictly exercised without any suffering of hospital operations.

Vendor Management :

Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets.
Establish, implement, and manage system to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance
Monitors and evaluates the performance of vendors to ensure that all parties are complying with contractual terms;
Maintains cooperative and positive relationships with sources of supply such as contractors, vendors and sales staff in order to stay informed regarding price trends, availability of supplies, new items, and product reliability
Meets with vendors and hospital staff to plan special projects, arrange for work completion and/or resolve problems
System / Process Development :

Accountable for developing and maintaining SOPs / policies for Materials related functions. This includes training employees and monitoring adherence to the standards.
Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory
Setting goals / objectives & targets for material department in units in consultation with Director Materials
MIS :

To ensure MIS on monthly basis i.e., Inventory level, Goods consumed, Stock-Out / Rejection if any, Capital Goods received & half yearly / Yearly MIS i.e., ABC details etc.
Responsible for reporting Materials related metrics.

Performance Management :
Work with the managers and plan department goals and specific individual goals and KRAs
Monitor the individual KPIs on an on-going basis and track performance trends
Periodically appraise the team on their performance and identify gaps in performance. Coach the managers to improve performance
