The Network Administrator works on various international projects for customers around the globe. Ensures the stable operation of customer networks and connected peripherals. Analyze and resolves network hardware and software problems in timely and accurate fashion, and provides end user training and support when required. Responsibilities Manage and troubleshoot all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, wireless AP etc. to ensure stable and reliable operation Proactive monitoring of customer networks Organize daily support tickets (incidents, service requests) and finish them on time, often with cooperation with other support teams, ISP and the customer Recommend network improvements and upgrades. Develop, document and train on hardware installation and troubleshooting procedures Take on call role to provide 24/7 support for customers Assist senior team members to design and test network architectures
Formal education & certification Mandatory
2 years networking experience
Knowledge on CCNA level
Fluent English Desirable
University degree in the field of computer science, telecommunications or similar
CCNA certificate Basic German knowledge is a plus (not required)
Knowledge & experience Mandatory
Good knowledge of TCP/IP stack in general, Ethernet
Good knowledge of VLANs, STP, HSRP and other LAN based network protocol
Basic knowledge of dynamic routing protocols like OSPF and EIGRP
Knowledge of Cisco switches (2960, 3750, 4500, 6500)
Familiar with Cisco switch/router configuration
Familiar with basic network architectures and designs
Good knowledge of DNS and DHCP Desirable
Experience with Cisco wireless AP and WLC
Basic knowledge of IPsec VPNs
Basic knowledge of network management tools like Nagios, PRTG
Basic knowledge of Cisco management tools like Cisco Prime, ACS
Basic knowledge of DNS server administration (VitalQIP)
Basic knowledge of WAN Acceleration (Riverbed)
Basic knowledge of Load Balancing Systems (Citrix Netscaler)
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP Analyzes (Wireshark )
Knowledge of Nortel/Avaya switches is a plus
Basic knowledge of ITIL Personal attributes
