Overall responsible for planning & design in areas of MEP systems including developing process, standards, inspection procedures & evaluation tools in MEP matters.
The role involves providing guidance and support to the M&E Design and Commissioning whilst establishing ways of working, standardization and best practice.
Providing M&E design support to project leaders as follows;
Providing support to the Project Managers to manage all M&E aspects of project eg. HVAC, Utility systems and facility mechanical systems
Supporting the project team in coordinating the M&E aspects of projects, including management of subcontract activities
Problem Definition / Design input
Confirmation and approval of subcontractor drawings and designs
To Produce design, H&S and contract documentation
To Liaison with subcontractors and suppliers
To Overseeing suppliers and subcontractors on site based activity
Assistance with production of estimates and costs
To be responsible for Preparation and completion docs e.g. O&M Manuals, commissioning plans, DRL
To be responsible for Undertaking Site based commissioning
To review contractor installation methods, shop drawings against design drawings for compliance with design intent & submit to project manager with necessary comments & seek approval
To review the material submittals with samples for Electrical equipment, HVAC equipment, plumbing equipment, lighting equipment, field devices and other associated MEP materials received from the Sub contractor and ensure such submittals are complied with the approved project specification/standards.
To assess & report risks associated related to MEP Installations or general project to project manager.
To monitor & report to manager on site progress and quality of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) work in line with contractors schedule and on compliance with approved shop drawings and installation schedules.
To ensure documentation of the filing or logging of the MEP related work is documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same.
To update oneself new MEP design concepts and technical developments of systems for applicability to engineering problems or bottlenecks
To attend project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
To interface with engineering team internally to establish direction for MEP work execution
To suggest to the Project manager with regards variation costs, for MEP services, that may be claimed by the Contractor during the work.
Overall 10 -15 years experience (Domain Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Medical Devices, Design Engineering Companies)
Minimum 10 years in Pharma HVAC, Utility and facility design engineering and execution.
Technical expertise in the areas of Pharma HVAC and mechanical systems and design.
Knowledge of innovative manufacturing technologies.
Strong in Project Design and documentation.
