Job Description

The Reference Data Technology Instruments team (part of the RFT) provides reference data delivery solutions mastering and distributing instrument reference data across the various lines of businesses delivering Client, Account, Document, Instrument and Core Reference.
This developer role shall be part of a team working on the strategic build up of the future state reference data technology platform for the various lines of businesses. Candidates will be expected to possess and demonstrate solid experience of key technologies including Core Java, J2EE skills. Good RDBMS/SQL database skills and solid UNIX experience are also required.
The candidate will be a good problem solver who is happy to work in a challenging and changeable environment. The role involves working closely with other team members, analysts and clients globally to deliver software to strict deadlines with high quality.
The role, based in Hyderabad, requires someone with a strong and proven background in, Java development with SQL experience having very good people and organizational skills. They will need to be comfortable working across organizational boundaries and be able to gain support from key stakeholders to endorse process improvements. Quality will be a top priority, but the ability to demonstrate effective and efficient delivery will be a key measure of success.

Essential Skills/Role:
§ Responsible for maintaining the software source repository
§ Continually working towards improving build automation and the surrounding processes.
§ Enforce change management procedures to ensure a stable production environment.
§ Responsible for day to day installation builds and identifying software subsystem
integration issues observed during development testing.
§ Monitor daily development deliveries and nightly builds.
§ Responsible for incorporating new software projects into the build process.
§ Responsible for coordinating deliveries between Software Development and QA.
§ Leads efforts to standardize code conventions and software versioning
§ Develops plans to handle complex product licensing requirements.
§ Works towards improving/consolidating product installation and product deployment
§ Acts as another quality gate, cross checking deliverables against schedule
§ Responsible for OS (Windows Embedded) image releases and maintenance.
§ Monitor Microsoft Embedded support site to periodically roll out critical OS updates.
§ Execute hardware qualification testing for new platform releases.
§ Participate in the setup of multiple environments for system integration testing.
§ Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of automation tools

Exposure to Rules Engine, preferably Drools
Experience or knowledge of Reference Data as it relates to an Investment Bank would be an advantage
An understanding of the investment banking - experience in one or more of the following business areas:: Fixed Income, FX, F&O, Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Hedge Funds
Experience in Agile development techniques like Scrum and Test Driven development
Essential Experience:
Exposure to technology development projects and the full technology development lifecycle
Excellent Communication and Inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals (Business Analysts, Project Managers and Developers).
Strong problem-solving skills
