The Operational Risk Technology (ORT) organization provides technology platform for the Operational Risk line of business through providing applications and reporting capabilities to capture, monitor and manage firm’s operational risk. The technology platform provides a comprehensive set of capabilities for all lines of business (LoBs) in JPMorgan Chase to perform and capture Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) covering the inherent risks of the business processes that the LoB engages in. Along with the risks, LoBs capture risk mitigating controls and the effectiveness of controls and ultimately calculation of Residual Operational Risk.
In addition to managing the potential operational losses, the ORT supported platform also enables the LoBs to capture actual loss events and establish linkage between actual loss events and business process risks & controls. This platform also supports firm wide Third Party Risk management and association between technology application risks and the business processes supported by these technology applications.
As a Technical Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the functional design, functional specifications and change management for the broad-scale execution of the strategic solution for operational risk management platform delivery. Applicants for this position must be able to communicate at multiple levels of technical detail, such as clarifying requirements with business partners, validating system designs with architects, and discussing specific implementations with software developers. A thorough understanding of large scale software development methodologies is required, including both waterfall and agile. The applicant must have excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, in order to collect and collate inputs, and document and convey solutions.
Develop functional documentation which fully describes the current structure of the system, along with impacts to the system resulting from proposed changes.
Work with business partners to validate, clarify, and normalize business requirements.
Interact with solution architects to validate current system design, and how proposed solutions affect that design in order to fulfill stated requirements.
Validate functional documentation with all partners, business, architecture, development and QA.
Guide development and QA through the process of converting functional analysis into software solutions and software test plans.
Act as resident technical subject matter expert for the Operational Risk domain.
As a change management lead, collaborate with the development, testing and release managers
5+ years of experience in information technology with an emphasis on business system analysis and functional specification development
Experience documenting functional specification, such as the creation of use cases, wireframes, process and data flows.
Experience with supporting and delivery functional specifications for large scale web applications
Experience with business needs analysis, documenting requirements, managing the requirement development process, and translating user requirements into technical specifications
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, both waterfall and agile methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
